Once Upon A Time

I'm not sure she remembers.... I think Mr. Gold does.... but she seemed to have "flickers" of deja vu or something.... but not really "remember".

Didn't Regina say something to Mr. Gold about how she's not making any more deals with him? I think he said something about having essentially procured Henry for her. I thought it was odd because it seemed like she knew she'd made at least one prior deal with him but didn't push on what those deals were.

My theory is that the Evil Queen had a thing for(maybe with) Prince Charming before he found Snow White. He's the other love that she lost. I could be completely wrong though, lol, that's half the fun of watching a show like this!

I think she said Snow cost her the man she loved and she couldn't bear living a day without Snow having to pay for that. But I don't think it was Prince Charming. I think next week we will see Snow's backstory and how she and Prince Charming first met.

Absolutely love seeing all the Fairy Tale characters, but I feel I need a refresher course.:rotfl: My son kept asking "who is that".....I am starting to think I might have read to many Dr. Seuss books to him not fairy tales. He had no idea who Rumpelstiltskin was lol.

This is a really good point I don't think I've read any Fairy Tales to my DS. I need to pick up a book I think. Anyone know any good ones?

The way Regina actually read through the book made me think she doesn't remember, and the way she looked at Mr Gold after he said please. If she remembered I would think she would have looked plain old angry, but she looked more confused and frustrated.

I think he's going to turn out to be the real bad guy and Regina may be redeemed before too long. Though killing her father was quite nuts. They just seem to be giving her a lot of moments where you actually feel sorry for her and they don't typically do that with bad guys. I also wouldn't be surprised if it is Prince Charming that she is in love with, but it sounded to me like her lover was dead.

I read that Mr. Widmore from Lost is going to be playing Prince Charming's dad. (I hope no one thinks of that as a spoiler.)

I also loved the Sheriff's line about the Dr.'s conscience getting the better of him.

I loved Maleficent's crown/hat.

I'm going to join in! Love love this show. While the men in my life don't watch my daughter who is 12 and I are loving it. I enjoy having a show that she and I can watch together without having to worry about its content.

That being said I need to go find my fairy tale books. I think just be missing some details on some of these stories. I had to read so many for my children's lit class in college, but my memory of some of these characters is vague!

This show is growing on me (I'm not a G. Goodwin fan...)!!

One question: who is the Sheriff supposed to be in the fantasy world?

We had a discussion about that a few pages back.:goodvibes

Short answer: We don't know.

Guesses: The woodsman (either from Snow White or Red Riding Hood)
Sheriff of Nottingham (my guess. not likely I think)

I didn't mean that to be mean. :goodvibes Just wanted you to know that it wasn't just me guessing.

I totally understand not reading through an 11 page thread!! :thumbsup2

No worries!! I didn't take it as mean!
Oh good. You never know around here! :goodvibes

Did you all see that an upcoming storyline is Cinderella?

You mean from next week's preview? Or did you read that somewhere? The preview made me think we're going to get more of Snow and Prince Charming.

I was just commenting to DH that I hope they branch out into other characters soon. It's such a big world to touch on. Dealing with Regina being a ***** is going to get old fast.

Hey what was with the cinnamon that Snow put in Emma's drink? I don't remember cinnamon playing a role in anything Snow White...

I could be wrong, because I often am ;)...

I don't remember anything about cinnamon from Snow White, but I think it was to show how those three characters are tied together. Henry ordered hot chocolate for Emma in the diner with the cinnamon on top. When she thought that the cop sent it, she asked how he could have known that she liked cinnamon on it. Then Mary (Snow White) served it to her saying something to the effect of she should have asked because she realizes not everyone likes it that way.

This was my interpretation as well.. all three generations like cinnamon on top of their cocoa showing that they are all indeed related!

I'm glad that no one else really knows what Snow White did to the Evil Queen. I thought I was missing something vital. My guess is that Snow White needed rescuing from some situation and her father (Evil Queen's husband) died during the rescue. It may have even been a trap set by Evil Queen to get rid of Snow White that backfired and also took the love of her life away. Then again, as noted above, I'm very often wrong.

I totally missed that. The perks of watching with a 2 year old. :thumbsup2
I was curious about the Cinderella thing so I googled "once upon a time spoilers" and found this(don't read it if you don't want to know what's coming up) :

Looks like the old witch is the one from Hansel & Gretel.

Here's a thought...Is Emma a fairy tale character too? If so...who is she?

I was thinking that she's not a character per say, but her name and story loosely fit with the Ugly Duckling story. The swan coming home to mother. But her red leather jacket bugs me. Maybe she's Super Girl or something. :lmao:

ETA: I read the link. Very interesting!

Next week's episode is called "Snow Falls" and gives the backstory on Snow White.
I believe Episode 4 is called "The Price of Gold" or something along those lines. That may be when we learn more about Midas' role in all of this, but also Cinderella's story.

Did you watch "Grimm"? If so, you might be right to be worried about that red leather jacket. ;)

I liked the last episode but it only raised more questions without answering anything. I now think that neither the Queen nor Rumpelstiltskin remembers anything from the other world. I think that Gold is an underhanded dealmaker because that's his personality in both worlds. The Queen, of course, is "soulless" because that's just who she is and it seemed from this episode that she has a pathological need to be loved on her own terms. That's why she got Henry, and is so completely disappointed with him. However, despite the fact that they don't actually remember, they have so compulsions to act the way they do because of the wording of the curse.
