Once upon a time I entered a kingdom....

I understand that all of us are sad about vmk closing in May, I certainly am. But lets not look at this as something we will be losing but something we have gained. I will always remember my great friends. happy times. fun games. the laughs. ship sinking battles. the memories and all around joy that disney has brought to me through the virtual magic kingdom. I have spent days, weeks during chemotherapy and bed rest. Weak days and times where I am just not feeling myself. I log on to vmk and just have fun and be happy. I am struggling through a life battle and what helps keep me going is a virtual battle. I can just take moments and forget who I am. Jump into a kingdom where I am Seagully and I sail the seas in the black pearl. I took screen caps of every land, and i took my sketch book and i sketched every land so that I can remember exactly what it looked like and I can remember the fun things that happened in that place. I will always remember what I have learned through Disney and VMK, that friendship and smiles can take you so far that laughter can make you so much stronger. I set goals that I was determined to reach, earn 100,000 credits just from ship battle level 3, create a pirates quest, complete the blackheart quest while helping others complete, and hundreds more! Everytime i completed one i moved to the next. My goal right now is to find the sparrow shirt and after that I may leave the kingdom in my favourite pirates costume and my seagull hat with my best crew in my favorite room -the pirates lobby with memories that will last forever! I am giving all of my items to those who wish for them list is in the link in my signature if i have something you wish for pm me or post and we can meet at a dock or room. I will spend this month enjoying the kingdom and playing pirates I plan on leaving the kingdom in May on the pirates dock, after I played my last battles and remember my many battles from the past. I will say see you later to the virtual magic kingdom and my friends because it won't be a good bye, So many have said that it's 'just a game' to me it's so much more! I encourage you all to not be sad over the fact of vmk leaving, but be happy for all the fun times you had while you played. And play this next month to the fullest and most of all have fun!

Remember dreams really do come true, and to every new beginning is a happily ever after.

I agree, Seagully! I remember for the first year I had only one room...the Tiki Island room...and I called it "Celebration, VMK." I had very few assets and they all fit nicely in there. (And that's a small room, mind you!) Friends would come in and we would talk around the campfire.

VMK was like therapy a lot of days; if I was having a rough day at work I could sit and shoot down ships for awhile and it made all the difference. I looked forward to the weekends and the new items that would be coming into the shops. Checkers became a bit addicting by the end as well! I played VMK with my family too: three of us on our laptops, sitting in the same room and playing on pirates teams together. I've met some great people along the way...I can't believe they've been on my friends lists for a couple of years already!

It's been altogether positive, and even though I've spent a lot of time on VMK I wouldn't trade it for anything.

It's truly been a place where dreams come true and magic lives.

You're right Seagul! We should be leaving the VMK Gates proud, proud to be part of such a wonderful community. We have made great friends, we will always treasure them. We shouldn't be all depressed. I know, we may never see some friends again, but at least we've had the chance to make them. I think that's what counts.
