We're taking our first cruise EVER on this cruise. Super excited to be on the Dream and to be taking a Disney Cruise as our first cruise. It will be me, DH, DS (3 at cruise time), DS (5 at cruise time), and our cousins who are staying a few cabins down from us on Deck 8, I believe!

:)

Welcome:cool1:The kids will have a great time:thumbsup2 Ours love Oceaners Club:yay:

So people... anyone up for making us a logo for this cruise? Any artists out there??:confused3

If someone points me in the right direction then I'll have a go, but I dont even know where to start or where to get the images from:confused3.. I am soooo useless when it comes to technical stuff:guilty:

My girls are 8, anyone with 8 year olds. Are we having a meet prior to sailing. My last cruise we did and it was wierd nobody talked we all stood there and I felt stupid. My husband wanted to punch me in the face because it was so awkward. I feel this little group is much more involved.

I still talk to some of the people I met on our cruise two years ago through the Dis:) We'll have a great time:thumbsup2

Maybe we can ask on the cruise magnet board. Millepie and jordak are awesome when it comes to drawing up stuff!

Get your hubby on here - mine joined the Dis a few months before our last cruise and actually enjoyed meeting up with people once he'd "chatted" to a few of them on here.:thumbsup2 Thats why making badges or t shirts are a great idea - my son kept shouting "theres another one Mom" every time he saw someone with the same logo on.:rotfl:

WOOHOO we are getting close. Does anyone have their Nassau plans set yet?

Our furnace has broke luckily it was cheap to fix (knock on wood). I am over the cold weather.

We've never been to Nassau before - I know it doesnt seem a popular port with other Dissers and many stay onboard, but we're going to get off, have a look around the straw market etc then get a cab to a local beach for a couple of hours.

Hope you get your furnace sorted soon Brrrrrrr:cold::cold::cold:

I actually like Nassau! There are some really cute shops. The only thing I don't like is all the people asking if you want your hair braided or want to rent a scooter. Other than that it's really interesting to walk around and look at buildings. The people are really friendly and helpful. The only thing I would advise against is taking the water ferry. That's a death trap! Atlantis is cool to look at. There are some really high end shops in there like Coach. You can see some of the aquarium for free in Atlantis too. There are also two public beaches there which aren't too far from port. Cabbage and Cable beach.

We have planned to do the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter. Hope everthing works out money wise for that:lovestruc

Have you been to either cable or cabbage beaches?

I'll be heading to one of them on this cruise and maybe the other one on our other cruise... unless the first beach is real nice then we'll go back.

I have never been to cabbage or cable, but I have read reports on cruise critic about getting the wydham/or sheraton day pass. Basically you pay the hotel money and you get lunch use of their beach, and pools. I wanna say depending on the hotel the cost was 20-40 a person, and a quick cab ride from the port, I dont have my notes with me. I have walked around Atlantis, great to see, but a lot of areas were off limits to day guests. When we were on a royal caribbean cruise in 2007 we booked the dolphin swim (hubby) and observer (me) on our own at the Blue Lagoon. As an observer it was nice because I got to take video and pics, without having to rely on purchasing theirs. It was a lot of fun. I know that Disney has a clause with them now that if they know you are on a disney ship you have to book through the disney excursion people. We rode the boat over to the island, which is beautiful. Short briefing and then time with dolphin in water. DH did the swim so it included the "foot push" which was cool. They are very professional. I looked into the Blue Lagoon beach day on our last cruise, but instead stayed on the boat, good thing we did weather was so bad all of the excursions got cancelled anyway. I think this time we will again stay on the ship. :confused3 We want to book the jet ski's on CC so that is our excursion budget for this trip!

Hi everyone!

Our Nassua plans aren't set yet but I do know we are getting off the ship. While Kevin & I have been there before our kids haven't so I want them to see some of the island.

It's been several years since our last visit but I remember really disliking all the "Can I braid your hair?" or "Do you want a taxi?" questions. Other than that we had a good time!

We really would love to do the tour to the zoo and the forts! We aren't allowed to book anything until 8/2 since this our first cruise though :confused3 I hate that! If we don't get in on that then we will probably just stroll a beach or take a cab to some shopping. I have never been "out of the country" so there is no way I am staying on that ship!!

We are doing the day pass at the Sheraton. I will post the email i received from them. I love Nassau. i would love to look in the shops but my kids make it impossible.

Yes, Steve - I've cruised with him twice before and he's making a round version of the logo for that cruise for us so we can put the logo inside buttons etc. He's given me hints on how to get started ...but it sounds difficult! I'll give it a go when I have some spare time.

I jsut want a couple of chairs on the beach and a cocktail or cold beer! I'm hoping either cable or cabbage beach will have chairs for hire.

Just experimenting to see if this works!
