Once Upon a Christmastime! A Nov. 2010 PTR! *Update 12/12, Disney Blues, pg 61! :( *

:bday: to your DH! I hope you two had a great day celebrating! :goodvibes

Don't be too hard on yourself about the weight! It's really hard to lose weight in the summer when it's so hot! Do you have a Wii? If you do, that game Just Dance is sooo much fun! It's a great way to get a lot of exercise (indoors) without even realizing you are "working out". I play that game for hours sometimes, and by the time I'm done I can barely breathe but it was all just for fun!

Yay for less than four months! :woohoo: I'm so excited for you! It's getting closer and closer. Ugh, how come I feel like my trip isn't?!

Don't you hate how easy it is for your weight to fluctuate? Mostly in the negative sense? :sad2: Are you weighing at the same time everyday? I've heard first thing in the morning is the best time. I have my weekly weigh-in tomorrow and I'm dreading it. I haven't been to the gym in weeks! :scared1:

Yay for 3 months (and 3 weeks and 5 days)! Your trip will be here before you know it.

Good luck with the exercising!

Thanks! I want my trip to be here, but at the same time, that means the year is almost over! So I don't want it to go by too fast! :)

The F&W choices look great; I'm actually in a Pooh-bear style "think, think, think" because of that list. I'll have to update in a bit!

I understand the frustration! I've been eating well but haven't lost anything. I know I need to cram in more workout time, but I'm always insanely busy as it is. I hope this week goes well for you!!

Thanks, it's definitely a long list, but there is just so much there to choose from! :rotfl:

I hope this week goes well for me too, it's annoying, I'm usually fine at work, but then I get home and I want to eat everything in sight! I think I might need to start eating a little more at work so maybe I won't be so hungry when I get home? I don't know, I have to figure out something that works for me! :) And it's so hard to find time to exercise, I don't know about you, but after working all day, exercising is the last thing I want to do! :rotfl:

Happy birthday to your DH! :goodvibes

Also, don't stress about the weight gain. Stress can actually cause your body to hold onto the weight (which may be one of the reasons I've gained so much in recent months :headache:). Besides, you're right, it's more than likely from the alcohol. It could also be bloating from PMS. There are a lot of factors as to why you could have gained a pound

Yay for the ticker saying 3 months (and some)! Mine almost says 2 months! :woohoo:

Thanks for wishing my DH a happy birthday! :goodvibes We ended up
getting into a huge fight yesterday, of course, but we got over it pretty quickly and had a fun night! :)

You're probably right about the stress and weight gain, I have been stressed lately, and I probably am PMS'ing too! So that might be it! It's just so annoying to know another week went by and I didn't lose anything! I guess my fantasy of losing 50 pounds by November is just not happening! Guess I'll have to stick with 40 as my goal! :confused3

I love when the tickers change months! Makes the trip seem so much closer! :)

yay for the countdown!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DH!!! I just ate at Japanese Hibachi with my mom, I don't want to know how much I gained from that meal!!

LOL, that's how I was on Friday, I forgot that I had Boston Market for dinner, which is basically pure salt, so that probably contributed to my weight "gain" as well! Thanks for the birthday wishess! :goodvibes

:bday: to your DH! I hope you two had a great day celebrating! :goodvibes

Thanks, like I said earlier, my DH and I got in a huge fight yesterday (it was so dumb and completely my fault ) but we ended up going to visit friends and we had a great night!

I'm trying not to be so hard on myself about the weight, it's just so annoying! I lost 4 pounds in one week when I started! If I lost 2 last week, and 2 this week I would have been up to 8 already! But now I'm almost back where I started! That's what bothers me so much!

I do have a Wii, DH's dad gave us his about a month ago, and I always forget they have games like that! I should totally look into that! If I can have fun while I'm working out, that would be great, and I love dancing so that might work! :)

Yay, less than 4 months! Don't worry, you're trip is definitely getting closer! And once I get back from my trip, I will be so sad and depressed...and you will still have yours to look forward to! :)

Happy Birthday to your DH!

Thanks! :goodvibes I'll have to tell him my weird, obsessed Disney friends wished him a happy birthday!

Ugh, it's so annoying how weight can go up and down, within a day or two! I do weigh myself at the same time every day, I do it in the morning before I eat. And my scale in unfortunately very accurate, so I can't even blame the stupid scale! :rotfl:

Good luck with your weigh in! I'm sure you will do great, keep me updated!

(PS-I had to delete some smileys again! I had 34 and we're only allowed 25 so that's why this post might not seem as smiley as it should be! See, one should go right here! Just imagine the little pink laughing smiley here!)

Alright, guys, I need some advice! :rotfl:

As you know, we will be arriving at Disney on the very last weekend of the Food and Wine festival, which, if you can't tell from my list of everything I plan on eating and drinking in 2 days, I'm very excited about! :rotfl:

I was looking at the special festival experiences that you can book and I happened to stumble upon this:

NEW- "3D" Disney's Dessert Discovery
Join us for a dessert lover's dream! During the Festival, select Thursday & Friday evenings become truly delicious with a variety of desserts and samplings of cordials certain to please any sweet tooth. Afterwards enjoy V.I.P. viewing of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.

How amazing does that sound? The last one they are doing is 11/12, our arrival day! I'm considering booking it, because it sounds fantastic, and I'd love to have a nice place to watch IllumiNations!

However, I don't know if I should book it, because it's our arrival night, for one thing, and I was planning on just wandering around Epcot all night, sampling all the booths! If we book that, we will be losing 2 hours of exploring the booths, and I'm not sure I want to lose all that time!

And it's $45 per person...which is not much, but considering there are other things I'd like to do (which I'll do a separate update about soon!), I'm not sure if I want to spend the money!

AND, they have just extended the Wishes Dessert Party! :dance3: So now I have to consider that as well, and this event at Epcot basically seems like the same thing, only with alcohol! And the Wishes party is much cheaper. The only problem is, does anyone know the times that you book the Wishes party? Is it always at 9?

I was planning on going to Epcot at night on Saturday until 9 when they close, and hopping on the monorail to MK for extra magic hours that night and catching Wishes at 10, and that would be the night I'd want to do the party. If we did book the party, we'd have to leave Epcot a little earlier, if they only do it at 9, and then we're losing more F&W time! :upsidedow

So basically...I don't know what to do! Should I book the new Epcot dessert event? Or should I do the Wishes party? Right now I'm leaning towards Wishes, but I don't know! I really don't like the idea of losing so much time at the F&W booths for the Epcot thing...but I don't know if we can make it to MK in time for the Wishes party! Ugh! :rotfl:

So DISers, I need your expert advice! What would you do if you were me?

Oh, and there is a time limit, the Epcot events are opening booking on the 20th. I'll have to check when the Wishes parties start booking, but I have to decide in 2 days about the Epcot one! :yay:

Hmmm...the dessert party at Epcot sounds amazing! :lovestruc And even though it is $45 dollars per person, I'm sure you would get your money's worth with all of the stuff you would get to sample! Honestly, I would prefer that one just because I can NEVER find a really good place to watch IllumiNations. And personally I think it would be neat to do it on your arrival night as something special to celebrate your first day there! But I completely understand if you'd rather do the Wishes dessert party since it is more afforable and something you have been wanting to do!

Also, I'm not sure if you could make it to Wishes at 10 if you are leaving Epcot when it closes at 9, just because so many people will be heading to the exit. But I could be wrong, since you're going during a good time of year, it might not be so bad!

I'm using my response to you as an update as well! Thanks for your input!

I went with the Wishes Dessert Party! :woohoo: The Epcot one definitely sounds better, but I just hate the idea of basically losing 2 hours that we could be wandering WS and sampling all the food and drinks and everything! The price wasn't so much of a factor since it would have only been around $40 more than Wishes, it was more the time thing! :confused3

I'm excited to do the Wishes dessert party, I've wanted to since they started it last year! I already called and booked the party, and our time is 9:00 and Wishes starts at 10, so I will have to leave Epcot that night around 8:15 just to be sure we make it! I know it's only about a 5 minute monorail ride, but you have to factor in walking times, since we will most likely be in WS when we want to leave, and then walking to Tomorrowland.

I'm HOPING to go to Disney next fall for MNSSHP, and Food and Wine will be going on at the same time too, so maybe I can do the Dessert thing in Epcot next year!

We've never done the F&W, but I think you made the right choice. There are so many items that look interesting on the F&W. And like you said hopefully you'll be going back again the same time next year and can do the Epcot dessert party next trip. :)

Yay for the dessert party! I've decided not to go to one, just because I think I'd rather just get a sundae from Mrs Potts or something :lmao: Hopefully that dessert thing will be at F&W again next year :) We're hoping that our dates next year will be Oct 31-Nov 9 or so, since we want to hit BOTH the MNSSHP and MVMCP. Yes, we're insane :teeth:

I think you made the right choice with the Wishes dessert party.

Then again, I don't like Illuminations.

Hang in there with your weight loss. I hate my scale, but I am addicted to it. Eventually, if you keep eating sensibly and exercising, it will have to cooperate!

I just read your last updates and all I can say is NEVER weigh yourself after drinking - too depressing!

And I would book the Wishes dessert package because I think $45 is way too much money for desserts and fireworks. I think you should go with your original plan and just wonder around and sample the food.

I'm glad you were able to come to a decision you are happy with! :thumbsup2 Hopefully you can go back next year and do the F&W dessert thing then! I can't wait to hear about the Wishes dessert party! :goodvibes

I think I made the right choice too! :cool1: DH was of course, no help. I showed him pics of the dessert party from last year and I was like "aren't you excited? We get to eat all of this and then watch Wishes!" and his response was "I guess". :sad2: I, personally, cannot wait!

LOL, how can you compare a sundae to a dessert party? :rotfl: I can understand not wanting to do it though, I mean, I didn't really want to schedule a lot of things where we have to be certain places at certain times, but whatever, I couldn't pass this up!

And yeah, I thought about moving my vacation up a week or two so I could hit both parties, so it's not so insane! I'm not doing it this year, but I would definitely consider it for another trip! :dance3:

I know, I don't know what I was thinking, weighing myself after I was drinking...and I didn't drink much, but the fact that it was beer made it so much worse! I think I'm just going to assume that I maintained last week, since that's what the scale told me on Friday! :rotfl:

$45 is a little too much for desserts and fireworks! Even the Wishes party is a little expensive for just desserts! But I do love dessert, and I love Wishes, so the 2 of them together are probably going to be worth it!

I'm glad you were able to come to a decision you are happy with! :thumbsup2 Hopefully you can go back next year and do the F&W dessert thing then! I can't wait to hear about the Wishes dessert party! :goodvibes

I'll definitely take lots of pics at the dessert party! :woohoo: I'm so horrible at getting good pics of fireworks, so I'm guessing most of my pics will be of the yummy desserts that night! I can't wait! November, hurry up!

I think you made a great choice about the dessert events! My thought is that on your first night, you're going to be so busy sampling all the different foods and exploring the booths that it would be hard to pull yourself away for 2 hours for the dessert thing. Although I think for a future trip that would be a lot of fun - it sounds like a really neat event! :thumbsup2

If I wasn't going to be by myself, I'd consider going (like if my best friend was coming), but since I am going to be by myself, I'd rather just get a $4 sundae :lmao: But yeah, if you want to take a chance on an unconventional spot to watch the fireworks, try standing over by Dumbo between it and the large planter surrounded by tables across from Mrs Potts and the hot dog/fry shop. It's really cool to watch them back there because it feels like you're surrounded by fireworks :goodvibes

Plus, I'm spending so much on the MNSSHP tickets and then I'm gonna be wandering at F&W... It doesn't really make sense for me to go. Especially when, knowing me, I'd only eat certain desserts.

The Wishes Dessert Party sounds great. I think you made a good decision. I'm thinking about doing that, if we can get in, next month. DH hates Disney, but he LOVES desserts so I think it may be a great idea to help woo him. Hopefully, you'll be able to go back next October. MNSSHP is such a blast! Nothing beats dressing and trick-or-treating in MK -- even if you don't have kids. :thumbsup2

I think so too, I'm so excited about the Wishes party (if you couldn't tell!) I think it's going to be a lot of fun! :cool1: The Epcot event seems amazing, but I don't think I'd like to be committed to that on our first night, I don't even have a dinner ADR for that night, I thought we'd just wander around and sample the different booths! I hope the Epcot event is a success, I'd love to do it next year! :)

LOL, I know what you mean, I'd probably opt for a $4 sundae if I were going alone too! :rotfl: Even with 2 of us, it's still a bit expensive for desserts, but I know I will eat most of them, I do love my desserts!

Someday I definitely want to watch the fireworks from Fantasyland, there, and from the beach at the Poly are 2 of my must do's for future trips! I've heard watching them from Fantasyland is great! :)

You should definitely try to do the party, but call now, I've read it books up quickly! :rotfl: As soon as I heard about it, I stressed about it for a few hours, wondering if I should do it or not, and then I was quickly on the phone!

I do the same thing with my DH, I try to pick places to eat that I know he will like and go on the rides I know he likes so he will enjoy it more and be more willing to go back!

I hope I can go next October, I would LOVE to do MNSSHP! :)

Plus, those sundaes are actually really good :teeth: I'd like to do the dessert party, but if things go well with this family reunion I'm planning (everyone's interested, I'm just the organizer :lamo:), we may wind up having our own private dessert party at Epcot one night! It'd be a surprise, though :ssst:

I haven't gotten around to watching them at the Poly yet. Hopefully on one of my next three trips

That would be fun, a private dessert party! :cool1:

I'd like to watch the fireworks at the Poly, but whenever I have a choice of doing that or actually being in the park and watching them, I'd rather be in the park! :confused3 It will have to be a time where I'm going to see Wishes multiple times in a trip or something! :woohoo:

I think you made a great choice! You'll have to take a ton of food pics!!

Thanks, I will definitely take lots of pictures of the desserts, I've looked at pictures from past parties and everything looks amazing! :cake:
