I did a private exchange with a DVC member for 2 weeks later this year (she is going to Hawaii to my timeshare) and I'm curious if you have the same benefits as DVC owners (pool hopping, free valet parking, free video rentals, etc.) or is it like you are just renting and have to pay for all those things and can't pool hop? Also if you do get the benefits of DVC members what are all those benefits.....

Technically, if compensation is given you aren't entitled to the benefits. In reality, if your card key says DVC Member you will get most of the benefits. The person you are renting from can probably fill you in on what's available at the time of your trip. The benefits are subject to change so you might want to check closer to your trip or you can check here, too. Valet parking at the DVC resorts should be available (but you should tip). Pool hopping does not include SAB or AKL and is subject to blackout dates at busy times. You also need to check with a resort before you head to that pool and you could be asked to leave if they get too full at the pool.
