Right now there is the "Ultimate Fan Guide" to Disney on the Travel channel.

Check it out!

Yes! And they're giving out all of the good tips and secrets!

Shhhhhh... I don't want the world to Know! :D

And Erika, the pretty brunette mom with the Murphy family (the ones in the Magic Kingdom) is our very own DISer TigrlvsPooh!!!

I can't believe that family with the two small kids doesn't start in Fantasyland! She said they go to Adventureland first to ride all the kids' favorites with no waits...well, the no waits part might be right, but my kids' favorites aren't in Adventureland, LOL. I wonder exactly when they do Fantasyland and what the wait times are?!?

Maybe they aren't giving away all the best "secrets" after all. Hopefully everyone will watch this and start off in Adventureland from now on, thereby freeing up Fantasyland for me, LOL.

Yeah.....I agree jcemom.........and getting a park map when you walk in the gate??? ultimate disney fans do not need a map........haha

The Lloyd Family are my heroes!

Also....those girls at mgm..............If they were ultimate disney fans they would have made their ps's before the trip:tongue:

Yep, the family with the small children just said that they follow around the hub and don't jump back and forth. By the time they get to Buzz (which she says her son loves) the line is really going to be long. Why aren't they taking advantage of fass passes?

Oh, I think our Ericka knows what she's doing. Everyone does things a little differently. Great job Ericka!!!

I'm sure certain things were set-up to happen like that.

ex..PS at MGM- letting you know you can make them when you get to the park in the morning, they did not say times may be limited but you could still try

Guide map as you enter the park...some new people probably have no idea where to get a map or that there are maps..Hey if you stay offsite you do not have mouse tv to let you know some of these things.

I think for the amount of stuff they covered in 1 hour they hit alot of spots I would not of thought about if I was a first time visitor....Hoop, mouseboats, Yacthmans steakhouse.

Most of us experts have years of experience and knowledge but think about the family that has no idea....that show could help them enjoy WDW a little more.

I hope that Disney can convert more people to Disney addicts like us.

Lori

Okay, I thought I was losing it...I knew that family looked familiar!!!

Anyway, I could not believe that they schlepped (sp?) around two kids all day at the Mk, then did Hoop De Doo, then did a fireworks cruise, then went to PI....I was exhausted just watching it all!

Anyone know the family that did the AK??? They had a pretty rigorous schedule as well.

::yes::

There isn't one way to do Disney. We all do what works best for our families. I freaked when I saw the husband and wife in bed at 8:45am, but that's what works for them.

As soon as we enter a park I send my son to grab a hand full of park maps. I have them to give to friends that are planning trips. I keep some in my classroom for my students to "read".

If I'm not mistaken, the family of 8 had one member go get fastpass while the others went some place else.

I loved the dad that had a folder for each park and a list of rides printed out for each park. Now that's my kind of planner.

I really enjoyed the show. I got tears in my eyes when they showed Wishes, my favorite night time show.

Each family did a great job showing the different ways to enjoy the parks.

I loved the show! Ericka, I thought you were great..and your children are adorable! I used you as an example to my mom of having the other relatives take the kids back to the hotel while the parents go to PI! I told her we will be bringing her and my dad along when we have children.

I agree that certain things were set up so that viewers would be informed about certain things. My husband yelled, "8:50!" when he saw that young couple's clock, but they probably wanted to show that people can relax and take it slow if they want to. (Not me though!)

I have to admit that I got a little teary when I heard the Fantasmic! music. We are doing the double digit dance today!! Whoo hoo!

Anyway, I thought the show was great...I told my friends it just goes to show there ARE people like me out there!

I thought it was pretty neat to see Ericka on TV. A fellow DISer! You're now a star! Congrats! Your family looked great! We also did the Fireworks Voyage a couple weeks ago with another fellow DISer pooh.kim and it was WONDERFUL.

I must admit we try to avoid Fantasyland like the plague around lunch time. It always seems to me to be at the most busiest and the sun is beating down hard by then. Oh, not gonna wait 90+ minutes for Peter Pan, no matter how much I love the dude. We always RUN to Fantasyland and do it first.

The minister? Was that the Lloyd family? My parents were over at the time and I said you can no longer make fun of me. Did you see that itinerary he had?!?

This was obviously not real life. I think most of us DISers make our PSs BEFORE the trip and what kind of luck is it to get a table right beside the water for IllumiNations? Could be that camera they had trailing them. ;)

Regardless, I liked the show and my daughters enjoyed it. It is now saved on TIVO.

Was Erika the only DISer?

I, too was freaked when I saw that alarm clock! GET UP!!! :hyper:

Erika, did you really do all that in one day? Or did they film it over several days? How could you even walk into PI?!?

I didn't really learn anything new on the show, I kind of thought there would be more tips and secrets then there actually were. Oh well. As I said over at the Community Board on this show, I laughed out loud when they were talking about FastPasses and the picture came up with questions "What is a FastPass" and the image was overlayed on a picture of Dueling Dragons. Oops..... who let that slip by in editing?

Well I have to say I wasn't a fan of those fans, mostly because they were the ones that beat me and my friends out (it was down to them, us, and one or two other groups) and I don't see how they picked them over us. That being said, the PS's were out of their control. Lightship TV (the production company) cast everyone about 10 days before they taped the show. Which makes it really amazing that Erika's family got to eat at Cindy's! ;) I really liked both Erika's family and the Lloyds. Mr. Lloyd, if you're reading this, I loved your personal schedules for each person! Of course now my friends are afraid I'm going to give them schedules the next time we go together :)

I recorded this show-- so I'm off to watch it now. Thankfully, I remembered to set it to record as I completely forgot it was even on!! Can't wait to see our DIS family!!

I thought the scheduling thing was the worst idea. Ok, so at 9 we will ride Space Mountain, then at 9:30 on to TTA, then at 9:55 Buzz Lightyear...... that is no way to have a good time.

Loved the show also. Didn't learn anything we didn't already know. I know they were doing things kinda deliberately to help the "rookies". What expert needs a map?!!! I too did a double take at the wake up time at the GF!!! OMG we would be waiting for the rope to drop at MK!!!!! Oh well, it was for effect I'm sure. We just got back last week from at week in the world so it was sad and exciting to see it all again so soon. Great job Ericka!!! I know you had a blast filming the show!!!

We loved the show and it came just in time for our first trip to WDW. I think it was really geared to people like us who have never been there. Although we've been to Disneyland many times and are familiar with the fast pass and parent swap I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that were happy to learn about them. And the getting up at 8:50 - that will be us the first morning - we're on California time, so that's 5:50 to us!
Vickie:wave2:

The show was fun.
I also ran to my family and said, "Look!! I'm not the only one who makes up index cards for everyone. " :D

I think the PS's were made special for the families... especially when I saw that the couple managed to get the table at Rose and Crown by the water for Illuminations.
;)

One fact I noticed that wasn't completely right that appeared on the bottom: "Disney Bus, Boat and Train transportation is free for Resort Guests"
Of course it is really free for all guests, unless something has changed since my last visit in April. :)

Have fun!!
