When HAVE people had luck getting OKW grand villas at the 7 month window? (i.e. what month)

It's really too bad there are no GV at BCV. :(

Interesting question, hopefully someone has gotten lucky. I too am bummed that BCV doesn't have GVs...ah well, I am not crying terribly much here. With my family, GV isn't required for EACH trip. But for both my and DHs family, it would be a great gift if we could say, hey all, we'll put you up for a week at Mickey's Place if you come? With everyone on both sides, we would have 11 people.

We had ressies at VWL for a 2 br for the end of January '02(made at the 11 month window). 3 months before our trip, I called to see about the availability of a GV @ OKW (More family members were possibly going to go) Some days were open, some not. It was for a 6 night stay. They waitlisted us and about the first part of November I recieved a call that they had a GV open for all of our days. I had 24 hours to respond, or lose the GV. The extended family then decided not to go, so we stayed with our 2br@ VWL. So I do know they can open up!

January is about the best time to try and get one. I think it is closely followed by September.

I have never tried for the summertime, so I have absolutely no idea what the availability situation is then.

The first two weeks of December are going to be VERY, VERY difficult.

I was hoping for a seven night stay in a GV at OKW for this coming October 18th, and called day-by-day at the seven month window.

I got four days straight off (checking in on a Friday), and am waitlisted for the last three nights. I know I was lucky to get the four nights, and I'm still hoping some of the other nights might come through, but it goes to show you can get GVs at seven months :)

Best of luck with your plans!

It used to be nearly impossible. But it is getting a bit easier. I made our reservations for a grand villa the end of November for our trip in May. That was 5.5 months out and I had no problem at all getting 5 nights for the week I wanted. We do own at OKW and usually plan our trips further in advance but this time we decided over Thanksgiving to take family along with us. We lucked out this time. I hear that OKW is completely booked for that week now.

I would still put the first two weeks of December on the "impossible" list.

My first ressie as a member was for an OKW GV on Wednesday, October 2, the night before my whole family leaves on the Wonder cruise. I called at 9 am right at the 7 month window.

I thought about a GV for when we have a large family group,,,,but then decided that I would prefer adjoining rooms, or 2 two-bedrooms nearby . I like a bit of privacy even though i love my family and enjoy their company......(I snore too) we could still get together in one of the rooms, but you have the option of going to the "other" rooms for some peace and privacy....just my opinion (especially if someone has little ones along). :( I'm so disappointed. I was so hopeful that people would switch over to BCV at 7 month mark that they will go ahead and cancel their GV. Can you tell that I'm waitlisted for GV during the first two weeks of DEC.:(

Could the good folks on this board throw some pixie dust around?

BCV has no GVs to switch into.

Did you reserve the weekend days? Were they available? Were there any individual weekdays available at all?

Your best bet is going to be waiting till '03 and trading points with someone.
