Has anyone ever been in the family fun day parade? How do you go about getting in this? Do you have to be chosen or do you sign un?

We were chosen by simply walking across Main St (toward Tomorrowland). We saw the ladies in red, white and blue. My youngest approached one and said she liked her outfit, and she said "how would you like to be in the parade?" I noticed other people came up and simply asked if they could be in it, and they were told yes. So I would advise showing up about 20 minutes prior to the parade start time, finding a CM in RW&B and simply asking. It's a lot of fun, and they take photopass pictures of you!

cool, thanks for the info-i definitely would like to do this!!!

Can you tell me a little bit more about the parade? Are there in characters in it?

It's a lot of fun. You march down main street with a character, and each character has a different aspect to the parade. For example, our section was the pom pom section with Daisy. They teach you a short routine, and you go from the hub to the train station. When you get to the station, you exchange your item (pom pom in my case) with a flag and wave your flag while they play some patriotic songs. The only other characters I can remember were the ones right in front of us...Chip and Dale had the hula hoop squad.

In Nov. My DD and her cousin just walked up to them and asked if they could be in it and they said, Yes:yay: My daughter called me and said hurry go outside I am in the Parade. {I was in City Hall} Here she comes Marching down the street waving a flag with Pluto:) My DD and her cousin were Walking behind Pluto, Chip and Dale were at the end of the Parade. I don't Remember if there were any other characters.

Here's a photopass picture of my kiddos (the two in the far right) doing the pom pom squad routine down Main Street.

We did this in 2006. I think it is at 3 or 3:30 every day. DW just asked to be in it. They start gathering people together on the tomorrowland side of the castle hub.

I think we had Pluto, Chip and Dale and if I remember correctly a cow (no idea who that is).

Definitely something to try. You can say you were in a parade down mainstreet!

Here we are in 2006. We were asked if we wanted to be in the parade and we said yes. My dd9 carried some twirly flag during the parade.
DH pushed DD3 in her stroller for the parade, unfortunately she threw a tantrum the entire parade. She wanted popcorn, we bought it, she dropped it, wanted more, I said no, she threw a tantrum.....
here is a good moment (before the popcorn)

We were the Grand Marshalls of this parade one day in January. It was so much fun! We rode in the little fire truck right behind Pluto (who leads the parade). One of the CM's took our camera and took lots of pictures as did a Photopass photographer. It's a really fun parade!

It's a lot of fun! I have been in Horace's and Clarabell's sections. I just need Chip/Dale's and Daisy's.

We were walking through the hub, towards the castle, when we were chosen by a CM. We politely had to decline though, since we were heading towards our lunch at CRT.

We were also chosen by simply being right there when they were getting started. We were actually trying to leave the park so we were totally clueless as to what was going on. A woman came up to my son and asked him to be in it. He had the whole mickey ears thing going on, so I don't know if that helped. He wouldn't go alone (he's 5) so she told me to come too. We were in the hula hoop squad with chip n dale. We had to learn the routine and smile and wave. It was fun. My husband looked hilarious trying to keep up with us while pushing my 1yr old in a stroller and take pictures.

how do you know what times that parade is? is it every day?

here's a great website that updates times for shows/parades all around WDW every week - I use this website every time I plan a trip to find out ahead of time before I even arrive in Orlando what time things are - he also posts the time of items that you won't even find printed on the disney time schedules

anyway here's the link to the current MK schedule just click the park links/names at the top to take you the other park schedules
