I just wrote a long message about this, but somehow it didn't work.. but uh .. does anyone know any resort other than deluxe that holds 5 people? 4 adults, 1 senior, if that matters? (or is 18 considered child for Disney?) .. and what is the Extra Magic Hours? So confused, I'm used to Universal :)
Any suggestions as to best tix deal? I saw $119 for 3-day tix, but I'm sooo confused!

Fort Wilderness Cabins will sleep 5. 18 year olds are adults at Disney. Regardless of where you chose you are going to have to pay an extra adult charge for each adult over 2 in the room.

Your best bet will be 2 rooms at a value resort. Extra Magic hours are available to all Disney resort guests. Park Hours are extended 3 hours after closing for resort guests. Each guest will need a resort ID, so you will need to find a resort that you can have 5 guests if you plan to go.

I would suggest reading the info on this site about ticket choices as there are lots of options now.

I think 18 is considered an adult for a resort stay. And definitely for the ticket.

POR has rooms that sleep 5, but not five adults. Only two double beds and one trundle bed.

Either a delux or two value resort rooms.

Two value resort rooms, never thought of that. LOL.
Are there restrictions to Extra Magic Hours, as to what parks offer it what days?

Do you know where on that allearsnet I can find info. on Florida Resident Rates @ the hotels? I found it before and now I can't seem to locate it?

Try 2 rooms at the ALL Stars.
That's 4 double beds and 2 BATHROOMS for less than 2/3 the price of a deluxe.
ALL Stars are my favorite resort.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

All Star Music is my favorite. It is quieter because more couples stay there. I love staying at the Clypso building. It is closer to the pool, food court and bus stop.

Here is a site with a map of All Star Sports and All Star Music.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmap.htm
Scroll down. All Star Music is at the bottom of the page.
The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck.

Here is the map of All Movies.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmovie.JPG
The Fantasia Buildings are the preferred buildings.
The All Star Movie Fantasia pool has Mickey.
It is a great place to stay .
Preschoolers love it.
It is like being in the middle of a Disney Movie Fantasyland.

The buses are wonderful.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---CSR buses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----15 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----15 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------10 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------35 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

The All Star resorts have 1960 rooms each.
Pop has 2,880rooms.
That means more people in the pools, food court and in line waiting for the bus at POP.
When phase 2 of POP is built it will be 2 bus stops at POP and the 2 POPs will have the same # of rooms as the 3 All Stars.

Also All Star is closer to the main road to get to parks and thats why bus rides are shorter from there than from POP.

A WORD ABOUT BUS SHARING:

It is usually just our stop and maybe one more on the way to the parks. On the way back sometimes its all 3 but often Sports and Music share and Movies has it's own bus back.

I guess some people who stay at POP see all 3 All Star names on the return sign of our bus stop when they head to the POP bus stop and think All Stars also has 3 stops on the way to the park.
(Even when we stop at another AS resort to load up it has not taken more than 5 minutes and we are on our way!)

I love the All Star Resorts --they can't be beat. I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

Thanks everyone, going to go over this info now and see what the family says :)

I've figured it out. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside holds 5 and (as of Oct 4th) was 132.72 incl taxes (wish Oct 5 rates would come out) .. well it holds 4 adults / 1 child (age 17) .. thanks, anyone stay here?

I could be wrong, but the "day bed" at POR is small, for someone under 5' tall, I think.

:goodvibes We just returned from a week stay at CR - there were 5 of us - me, DH, DS (15), DD (11) and DS friend (14). The boys are taller than me (I am 5'11") so they shared a bed - me and DH shared a bed and DD is is almost as tall as me (she is about 5'8" - I know we have big kids!) slept in the day bed. However, the day bed is not what you think. It actually flips over and has a nice twin mattress - just like a regular bed. DD loved it! Also the room was big enough for all of us - it has a big table where the boys played their Tech Decks (mini skateboards). And we had no problems using just one bathroom. We are not in the room that much so it was not really an issue!

Also since this was our 20th wedding anniversary trip we splurged for a Deluxe! It was worth it IMO!

Don't forget about the extra charge per adult though. I think it is $15 per extra person per night. For that it makes more sense to have the extra space and bathroom of 2 value rooms.

We have stayed at POR. We were give a room with a trundle bed (even though we didn't need it). If I remember correctly, the trundle unit was a little shorter than a regular bed. So, a 17 yo may not fit on it. Someone mentioned a day bed for POR, but it is a trundle and not a day bed. I would go with 2 value rooms. HTH.

Thanks for posting the info about the daybeds at the Contemporary. I felt sure they were twin size, but I was corrected on another thread that they weren't.

They definitely are a "full" size twin....not a small day bed. My 6'6" son had no issues on that bed (or the ones at the Poly) - although it's hard for him to fit on any normal size mattress...but it was the same size as his twin mattress at home.

That price included 4 adults, 1 child :) but that was if we arrived Oct 4th, waiting for the Oct 5th rates to come out :confused3

Okay, wasn't sure if was included or not. Just making sure you weren't going to get any "surprise" charges.

The other "regular season" dates (July-Aug) had it at $99 per night, so assuming $15 per extra adult, should be around $130 w/o tax per night for Oct 5th - 8th, since the difference between value and regular season seemed to be $10. Thanks! Think it's about the same for the value hotels, should be around $74 per night per value hotel.
