On site....family of 6?

Ok I know we have too many kids but.....in 2005 we had 3 kids (but 1 was a baby) and we stayed onsite and loved it. Now we are comprised of 2 adults, 2 girls (age 10 and 8) and 2 boys (age 4 and 2) Do I have any choices? I know at Disney the 2 year old doesn't really count towards room occupancy but I'm not sure on the restrictions at Universal.

only 5 to a room at the on site hotels at universal.

that is due to the fire code.


it doesn't matter if you have a child under 2, the child still counts in the total number per room.


you have the option of booking two rooms that connect thru the rooms.


you won't have an exception made to the 5 to a room policy.

When i called a couple weeks ago they said we could all 6 stay in a King something or other? Not sure what exaclt she called it but it was cheaper to book 2 rooms than have the King one for our dates.

king suites sleep 3 for the onsite hotels.

the Hospitality Suite is very expensive but it can accomadate 6, but you need to book a connecting room with it.

We are in the same boat. I'd love to do universal this year, but the thought of $600 for 2 rooms for one night makes me think we'll just stick with Disney. I was really hoping to find a better rate than that. My husband would absolutely love to do Unversay for 2 nights at the end of our trip - I am just way too cheap to part with $1200 simply for 2 nights lodging.

you can get a room alot cheaper if u just keep checking back...we got a rate of $126 Christmas week...of course it was SS but the AAA rate was less than $200 as well.

I have 5 in my party & was told I could use our blow up air bed for our trip & would not have to pay the $25 for the roll away. Should I call again & confirm this I don't want to check in & be charged $25 per night for 7 nights on my vacation

many people take some type of air mattress for the 5th person.
you will have zero issues with the hotel over that.

decline the rollaway bed if asked.


have housekeeping bring extra sheets, pillows, linens and blankets for the person that is using the air mattress.

many people do ask for the above and have no problem getting them.


the rollaway takes up a lot of space in the room if you leave it extended out.
the air mattress can be placed on the bed and out of the walk way when you all are in the room. some say they pushed the air mattress under a bed to keep it out of the way when they are just hanging out in the room.

You can probably get blankets from star service.
