Kicking around the idea of a first trip to Universal during the kids (17 & 13) April vacation. I'm guessing the park will be busy if not packed so is staying on-site and getting the benefits are tempting. We're not rich but I'd be willing to stretch the budget if the benefits are truely worth it.

Thanks!

We have been to Universal twice and I think the benefits of staying on-site are most definitely worth the cost! My kids are somewhat spoiled now when it comes to the rides at Universal and IOA. They LOVED using their room key to jump to the (almost) front of the line! We are going back to Universal this summer and they threatened mutiny if I did not reserve a room on-site! I really do think the perks of skipping lines as well as getting in an hour early and not worrying about parking are worth the extra cost involved in getting a room on-site. HTH! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't even think of going during Spring Break without it. If you can't afford to stay onsite, I probably wouldn't go this year. Crowds during Christmas were horrendous.

Do they have stuff for my teenagers in the citywalk area? Again I just started checking out the two parks so I'm a newbie but learning everytime I can get on the internet.

Not much at citywalk for teens except restaurants and shops. There is one club that they can go to on Thursday nights.

When in April are you planning on going? Looks like Universal isn't expecting huge crowds til the last two weeks.

defintely stay onsite.that makes the difference between a relaxing vacation and a hassle. you can save money by bringing some food items with you.we have learned to bring milk soda beer and snacks and that really helped. dont worry about what people may think, we all do it, that makes the trip more affordable
