I uploaded a bunch of pix on the dis website and wonder if they can be reduced there. They're awful large. For example

Cassie,

Do you have any sort of image editing program? I use several. I've got Microsoft PhotoDraw 2 and Paint Shop Pro 7. I use PSP the most and it isn't that expensive for all that it does. It is about $79. I know that isn't cheap but compared to many others it isn't bad.

To truly reduce the image you will need to have some sort of program. You can make it look smaller on the page just by changing the HTML code you used to display it. For example...

&ltimg width=300 src="http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/cassie2/cottonmill.JPG">

Gives you...

<img width=300 src="http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/cassie2/cottonmill.JPG">

but the file size is still over 100kb. That won't change just by using the "width=xxx" feature. You still need something that you can load the image and actually use some form of "resize" feature.

On program you may have is Paint. On your start menu and under Accessories you will find Paint. I'm assuming you are on a Windows machine. Load your image into Paint and on the menu select "Image" and then "Stretch/Skew". In the boxes out beside Horizontal and Vertical put like 30 or 40 in. Use the same in both so the image won't be distorted when it shrinks. Then do "File" and "Save As" and save it as a new name so you can save the original. See if that will work for you.

Thanks Bob for the help. I'll look at Paint.......This digital camera stuff is all new to me, but I did get them uploaded. The only program I have is the one that came with the camera.

I'm on vacation this week, so I'll have time to work on it.

Just keep posting here as you have questions. I'm just a lurker here but I or someone else will usually be around to help. That is what this board is all about. The moderators here are really great and helpful and there are other lurkers like myself that pop in from time to time.

Hey there cassie!

I would assume there is some type of photo editing software that came with your camera. I have an Olympus digital camera that came with several programs, 2 of which I can use to edit the size of the image.

One suggestion... I would make copies of your photos before you start play around with them. While you may want to make them smaller for display on the web, you'll probably want to maintain the "integrity" of your originals!

As Bob said... don't hesitate to ask, we're here to help!

Thanks Chris...for the hints.
