I am hearing that on point is going out of business and not taking any new appointments. Anyone else hear this? I have them booked for next weeks for our cruise.

If that is true it is going to make it so much harder for people to get their tests.

But it doesn’t surprise me since proctored testing demand is way down since not much reason to test anymore unless actually sick.

I would think the numbers would start to go up like they do for flu season, and then spring they would go out of business. But I’m thinking that’s what the country needs to navigate many things throughout the winter. But it’s the almighty dollar that’s really going to make the decision and I’m pretty sure since they have no guarantee they would probably close.

FYI their website is just a picture now. The rest of it is gone. I would say that does not look good. If you can't call them I'd dispute the charge and book elsewhere.

With all the at home testing demand won’t go up and there almost no demand no for travel and other events like there was.

Wow, I just noticed that too. I used them on my September cruise. I just recommended them to a friend. Guess I better tell her.

I wouldn’t be surprised. A bunch of us had appointments for our September cruises and at the last minute they canceled a bunch of them citing internet issues. So many of us had to try and get our money back (I am still waiting for mine). They recommended rebooking for the Monday which, of course, wouldn’t work for us since that Monday was the day we sailed!

I personally say Good; I hope they are out of business. I'm hoping all of these places go the way of the cassette, cd, pay phone, manual windows, and the bee-hive hairstyle and become history. :)
(Flame away, but I'm willing to bet there are many of you on the DIS who feel the same way).

I fully agree! I hope its the final push for Cruise lines to ditch all testing since they are basically they only travel/entertainment venue that has any testing requirements left.

We are on the nyc cruise leaving the 21st and had appointments booked for next week. Has anyone been able to get in contact with them? I can’t find any info on our confirmation emails to give them a call

I had an appointment to. I tried calling a few times but after being on hold for like 10 minutes I get told call volume is to high and to send a email and them they hang up. I canceled the zoom I had and I am disputed the charge through my credit card company. I ordered the tests though safe passage and booked that way. The cost is more but worth the piece of mind.

I’m on your sailing, had an appointment with them too 🤬🤬 Thank God, I figured out another plan. STAT Health and City MD here in NY can and will do testing for vacation travel. Just need to pay my insurance copay.

This is tough for those who are still having to test for their upcoming cruise. Since I still receive their email ads, I did noticed they stopped coming. We all used them in sept for our cruise. The agent was in Thailand.

I've seen this widely reported on various Royal Caribbean message boards also.

Why would people on Royal even care since home tests are allowed to be done with no supervision? Seems like only transpacific/atlantic and Bermuda require supervision. Which those are only a tiny portion of all the cruises they do.

The rules have certainly been changing rapidly so yes it effects fewer and fewer people every day. But some people booked their supervised tests well in advance (when they were required) and have been reporting issues and cancellations since the beginning of Sept. It doesn't matter for those that no longer require the tests but it's definitely a hassle for those that do.

That makes sense!
Im hoping for all testing for everyone on all lines is gone super soon. Greece just dropped there rules (like the last European country to do so). Cruises are basically the only place using them in any form for travel/leisure.

There are actually a number of countries that require testing or vaccination. This list is on the NCL website since I can’t share links.

Also, it seems like Carnival is not interested in changing their testing/vaccination policy because they just updated their website to reflect the new Bermuda changes and they are still requiring a test or proof of vaccination. Just so you know there are other companies that still do supervised virtual antigen testing.

Still the list is incredibly small though. And it’s not hard to have different rules. I still don’t expect testing for non vax to be around much longer. Things have been changing so fast lately. Many here thought dcl would require vaccination well into next year and here we are now with soon no vax mandates.
