On our way this weekend ! Question about 2 year old

Just found this board today and figured I'd ask a question here. We are making our second trip in 4 years. My daughter is now 8 but we have a 2 year old son that is comming this year. My question is, ON rides like Starship earth, peter pan, or other slow moving (non-intense rides), can he sit in one of our laps or does he have to sit next to one of us?? He is about 36 inches tall (if i had to guess).. ALSO do all the rides have like a parent swap option, where one parent can ride and when they get off you hand your 2 year old off to them and then you can ride?? If anyone has any suggestions about traveling with a two year old, i'd love to hear them.. thanks, chris

WELCOME! and hello. Our son was 2 when we went on our trip last year. More than likely, you will have the option of whether or not you want your son to sit in your lap or not. I'm pretty sure my wife held our 2 yr old on Pirate's of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, Jungle Cruise & Kilimanjaro Safaris. There are some cases (for safety reasons) that this would not be allowed i.e. Aladdin's Magic Carpets, Cinderella's Carousel, etc. As far as I know, the parent swap option is available for all rides & attractions, but we never used it. I took my daughter when she was a month short of 3 years old and we had a wonderful time. She sat either in our lap or right between us on most of the rides with no problems. The parent swaps were good, but be sure to watch for the single riders lines on some of the rides, like TestTrack at Epcot. The single rider lines moved faster than the regular line so no parent swap was needed.
