We are a party of 6 booked at the WL. We will be bringing our son (6 years) in his stroller wheelchair.

I have done my best to keep us dining within each park, each day, however there is a day I can't seem to figure how we are to get around. We want to go to Downtown Disney, then have a 5:45 dinner at the GF, then back to the WL (or we might visit the MK for fireworks). I really would like all 6 of us to be able to travel together and not get seperated. Is this a reasonable request or do I forsee a challenge on my hands?

It is not a problem at all.

If you want to go to Downtown Disney from WL, just get on that bus. On the way back if you want to go to a park from DTD, get on a bus that is close to that park, and then transfer to the bus or boat to the park.

Just allow at least an hour before your ADR to get where you are going.

So from Downtown Disney, take a Bus to GF, then Monorail to MK for Fireworks and then a Boat out from MK back to WL?? Am I missing something? What runs through the Transportation Center outside of the MK?

Yep, that is right.

At the Ticket and Transportation Center is where people who drive to MK go to enter the park and some buses for other resorts. The way you are looking at doing it will be the best. I wouldn't even go to the TTC for anything. The transportation around the parks and hotels are better than going to TTC.

Thanks for replying. This is only our second visit. Our 1st was for my son's Make A Wish trip back in April and we stayed at the Give Kids the World Village with a rented van. Very NICE and EASY!

I have read a few threads where some people with standard wheelchairs were unable to load onto boats because of high/low water. How often of a problem is that? Do you know how long of a boat ride it is?

As far as the boats go, most of them that are problems for people in wheelchairs or ECV's are the smaller boats. They have no where for a ECV. You shouldn't have any problem on the bigger boats or the pontoon style boats around DTD. If you are able to carry your son out of his wheelchair and fold it up you shouldn't have any trouble at all with any of the boats.

As far as how long it takes to get around on the boats it depends on where you are traveling from and to. I find them to be very nice and relaxing taking between 5 and 20 minutes. Sometimes we just get on a boat and ride the circuit for a relaxing cruise.
