On-Line Orders

I've had no issues with Amazon ( and yes you can say Amazon on here, lol), in fact they have actually been a bit faster than usual. Only ones I've had issues with are Home Depot and Ebay. Still waiting for something that was shipped USPS on Tues the 26'th and its still not here. Seller lives in OH, I live in MD, I could have driven there faster than they are delivering it, lol!
Driven? You probably could have walked there and back by now!

We order many, many things online even before the pandemic. However, I placed my first online order EVER at Bath & Body Works on May 15th, got shipping notification on May 22nd and it is still not here. It was supposed to arrive yesterday and said it was here in Atlanta, but now the status is back to Processed and says Thursday, June 10th, so who really knows?

It is being shipped through Newgistics. It is horrible is all I can say.

I order from Amazon almost daily. Some things have taken longer than normal due to the circumstances. I've had two unusual instances of my package getting lost in transit. Both were refunded to me, and only one of them ended up showing up eventually. But considering the amount I order through them, it hasn't been bad otherwise.

I agree that other retailers have been slow. I placed two orders from the Container Store - one on May 10th and one on May 20th. The May 10th one shipped yesterday, finally. The May 20th one still hasn't shipped. Also waiting on a Sephora order to ship that I placed 10 days ago. And still waiting on an American Eagle return to be credited that they received back on April 26th.

I order from Bath & Body Works frequently and both orders I've placed since this started in March have taken about a month to get to me. It is ridiculous, but its on par with other retailers right now. They are starting their semi annual sale next week so I imagine it will get worse with the increased volume of orders they'll likely see.

My B&BW order took four weeks to arrive after ordering. Fulfilment took over two weeks and shipping took 10 days. I'm not inclined to order online from them again.

I've ordered from other retailers (Lane Bryant and Barnes and Noble) and I ordered and received both of those within a week.

Same experience for me during the pandemic. But I will say that I order from them often and in "normal" times, it takes about 7-10 days from order to receiving the package. They've never been the fastest, but the pandemic has made it even worse.

Some are normal, but many are very slow due to the precautions they've taken, as well as the uptick in online orders and volume on the carriers' end. Sephora, Ulta, Old Navy, and American Eagle have all taken 2-3 weeks for me in the last month or two. I mentioned up-thread that my May 10th Container Store order just shipped yesterday. No backorder, and I got weekly emails from them apologizing for the delay. Some retailers are just handling things better than others right now.

Newgistics is the absolute worst ! Not only slow, but they lose everything ! You can check their tracking , and you will see patches of days with no package movement at all !

Yes - this is what happened to me too - it left Phoenix a long time ago and then spent quite a bit of time in the Dallas, TX metro and was supposedly here in Atlanta yesterday per their tracking. Now it is processing again.

Of course Bath and Body Works charged me for all of this almost three weeks ago now.

Same here - Victoria secrets/pink uses them as well - I had ordered stuff for dd a few months ago - we live in Brooklyn - they sent the items to nj (not sure why) and then back to Brooklyn - then they were out for delivery - never received -
Contacted VS.- they reshipprd to us 2-day priority
A month later, received the original order from newgistics - contacted VS. They said to keep due to our troubles

It finally arrived just a little while ago, and while she triple wrapped it, the USPS managed to damage it and when I opened it, it was starting to leak out of the bottle. (it was a bottle of a hard to find Bath and Body works body wash). Seller is sending me another one, I figure another 3 weeks and that one might get here!

Ok unrelated to Amazon and actual delivery services but ordered a towable tube for my kids from a marine - out of state - Memorial weekend because looking at websites they had the best price.

Package received and it is not the tube I thought I was getting.

After 7 days the company finally responds - tried calling, emailing, online chat, facebook message, and tell me they had the wrong picture with the description (which wasn't a description just a name of the tube - how would I know the name - we were shopping for a tube the kids liked the looks of). So now I have to wait for them to tell me how they are going to process my return and how to ship this tube back to them and be out $$ until I am issued a refund. 🤦‍♀️

That's what, six weeks? I'd call them, and keep moving up the lsdder until you're credited.
I've called a few times! They just keep saying they're backlogged, and I did get an email saying they received it. Luckily the amount was small, but frustrating nonetheless.

My daughter had major growth spurt so we had to get new summer clothes. Ordered from Macy's, Kohl's, H&M, Old Navy, and Abercrombie.

Longest time to arrive: H&M. Took 3 weeks
Fastest time to arrive: Macy's (it was multiple shipments but one came 2 days later. Kohl's was pretty expeditious too.)

Of course, with online ordering of clothing, returns are inevitable. Macy's took longer than normal for return but it wasn't horrific. Kohl's and Old Navy I was able to do at the store. H&M if I return it, I will pay more for shipping than the shirt is worth, lol. Store here not open yet but I will wait it out.

The absolute longest of shipping and return is Ann Taylor Loft. As soon as my order arrived I tried them on, and sadly most went back (what is with the boxy crop tee for middle aged women?? The photos online made it appear normal length and somewhat fitted!) I digress, original order placed on April 30th. Finally arrived on May 20th. Returns mailed back May 21, and awaiting refund to CC.

Same issue I had with Home Depot. Ordered some vinyl decorative fence from Home Depot at the beginning of May. Finally got it last week, and it's not even the fence I ordered. I look up the item # on the fence they sent..website says it doesn't exist. I look up the one I ordered, it's back to showing as being back ordered. I called Home Depot and got a very nice guy, who looks it up and says well that's weird, it shows that you were sent what you ordered, but the UPC code you give me from the item you got (there was a tag on ONE piece out of 18) says there is no such item. I uploaded a picture of what they sent me so he could match it to what I was sent and he said "well that looks nothing like what it shows on the website" , I said 'yeah no kidding, why do you think I am upset"? So he said 'how about if I just issue you a 20% refund , and you keep what we sent you too, no need to return it." I said " no that won't work, I am not paying that much for fencing that I don't like or don't want, just tell me how to return it". (fencing cost $44.99). He put me on hold for a few minutes and came back and said 'I have a better solution, I will just issue you a full refund and you can keep the other fencing, rather than return it". I told him that would work for me and I will just use the fencing on the other side of the yard, where only the neighbor we don't get along with can see it, lol. They had shippped its UPS, and it took the long long way to get here, and the box was damaged and half open when it got here, but that's not Home Depot's fault, it's the overloaded overworked UPS drivers fault. At least it was free shipping, lol!

OP here. I re-ordered the item that was delivered in small empty envelope. Re-order came in the same small envelope....I didn’t think it would fit in that envelope, but it did and arrived just fine.

DH’s co-worker has had a couple of his packages from Amazon re-directed to a different address in another state. The order contained message ”customer re-directed order”....he did not. He never received them but they were being shown as delivered to the re-directed address.

We've had a few problems over the years with Amazon, items never showing up or showing up later than promised by days. I ordered a book for my dad, to be delivered to his assisted living facility and didn't think anything else about it. Several months later, he asked me to order the same book. A chat with Amazon showed they never shipped the book, but charged me for it. That was an easy fix and came with a huge apology. I think my biggest peeve was the delivery driver who crammed a package into our mailbox (not a USPS carrier), noted that he delivered it to the mail room and failed to take a picture. I got in touch with Amazon to figure out what in the world was going on (the package was to be delivered to a house, not an office). I found the package the next day when our postal carrier rang the doorbell delivering our mail and letting us know there was a huge box in the mailbox that left her no room for the mail. I complained and haven't had a re-occurance. I know of several people on Nextdoor who have taken screen shots of packages being delivered to houses that were not their houses, asking if anyone recognized the front door or had received a random delivery. I love Amazon, but, like anything else, some of the delivery people are questionable.
