On-Line Orders

We have been doing a lot of on-line ordering over the last few months at A*****....just in case it’s against policy to actual name this popular shopping site. The last couple of weeks, we have had some really weird delivery problems.

First incident was last week when the delivery tracking said date, time and location (front porch] but nothing was delivered. We have camera at door and driveway so we know there were no deliveries as stated.

Second was even more weird and happened this week. Small envelope was delivered which was way way too small for item delivered and was still sealed. There was absolutely nothing in the envelope. The tracking number matched the item that was supposed to be in the envelope.

It’s making me a little paranoid to order again. Has anyone else been having issues? I did end up reordering the item but if there is a third incident, I think I will stop ordering for a while.

The delivery company is investigating first incident. A***** credited us for the second.

Same here. Often Amazon notifies me of a quicker shipping date.

We have had two problems with Amazon. First item showed as delivered but we had not received anything. My son advised them of this and was directed to contact the shipping co. There was no reply but about a week later it was delivered in my mailbox by our postal service. Our current issue is an item that was shown to be delivered by 8:00p.m Monday night, June 1. So far nothing, again my son is working on it. In between these two we have ordered other numerous products with no incident.

Been ordering a lot from Amazon.....always do.
At the start of this, things were a bit slower being delivered, but now it all seems fine.
Ordered something yesterday and it is supposed to be delivered today.
Ordered 3 things last week and they all arrived at the door with pictures on time

I've had no issues with Amazon ( and yes you can say Amazon on here, lol), in fact they have actually been a bit faster than usual. Only ones I've had issues with are Home Depot and Ebay. Still waiting for something that was shipped USPS on Tues the 26'th and its still not here. Seller lives in OH, I live in MD, I could have driven there faster than they are delivering it, lol!

No problems with Amazon but lately everything I want is out of stock.

I wanted to order..something (a shirt maybe?) and the delivery window was June 6-November 6. Way to be accurate lol

On the second item was it shipped by Amazon or a third party?

I have 2 orders, 3 shipments, coming between today and Monday. So we’ll see how it goes. All coming from Amazon. I try to only order item from Amazon or at least fulfilled by Amazon.

Slower than usual but starting to get back to normal. I have had two things from Amazon and one from Target just disappear into the abyss though. Had shipped but after that, who knows what happened to them?

We order from Amazon regularly and the only thing off is not getting items as quickly as we did previously, even with Prime.

I’m close to a distribution center. I can get my Amazon orders without delivery if I want.

We do most of our shopping through Amazon. Things have occasionally happened. When they do, we've always gotten great return service (orders resent, often after being refunded the order cost, etc). During covid things were terrible slow. We always only order items labeled Prime tho, as those provide for the easy Amazon returns. 3rd party doesn't have to follow those.

A lot of this depends on who is selling and/or shipping. Some items can be specified as who the seller is. There's "Fulfilled by Amazon" where one can get Amazon Prime shipping and where Amazon warehouses the product on behalf of the seller. The shipping can be different sometimes because of where the product is warehoused. Many items sold directly by Amazon are warehoused in multiple locations around the country and some even available for same-day delivery.

I've ordered a few items that were clearly marked as being sold by a Marketplace Seller. When the item was received it would never arrive in an Amazon package and could be sent by several shipping companies.

Also around these times Amazon is prioritizing certain shipments. I don't even get it since my dad asked me to find where we could get medical style masks. Even the retailers that claim they have them in stock say that shipping isn't until the middle of July. I don't exactly get it.

Is it possible the 2nd package was handed off to USPS also? Our USPS is notorious for saying packages are delivered, when they haven't been. They also routinely say there wasn't a safe place to leave the package, which simply isn't true. Some of them obviously just don't want to get out of the vehicle. The packages usually show up within a week. *It's too bad it's not possible to request all packages be delivered by someone other than USPS.

*FWIW, I'm referring to my PO only. I know most of them are much better. We always had good USPS service, until we moved here.

We've had the same experience. Prime has been a waste of money, for us, since COVID-19. We used to get most packages next day or at least within 2 days. The Christmas rush would be the only possible exception. Occasionally, it would take 3 days. Now it's routinely a week or longer, before we get our packages. To be fair, most items do state it's going to take that long, even though the item is in stock & ships via Prime.

Over the last 2-3 weeks, I've seen Amazon return to normal (at least as far as I'm concerned). Most non-essentials items are now here within 1-2 days.
