I am just wondering what online check in does or how much quicker it may be. Thanks for any help in this.

In assessing whether or not to do this, think about your ARRIVAL TIME AT THE HOTEL. If you will be arriving at an "off hour", like NOT between around 12noon-4pm, I'd say skip online check in. Chances are there won't be much of a line at the regular check in.

I arrived at the Contemporary at around 7pm on a Thursday. There was NO line at "regular" checkin (I did NOT do online checkin). There was a line 4 deep for "online checkin" and I was done with my check in before the second person in the "online check in" line had even stepped up to the counter...

I did online check it. When I got to Pop I was put into a seperate line and handed a packet (room keys, etc) it took less than 1 minute. I'd do it!

Ok just back from home at SSR. Did the on line check in and here are my results. Checked in at 9 days before. Had already requested Water view 1st choice CP 2nd Paddock 3rd GS.

We arrived at 10:30 am found the on line check in line. No one in line but me. I was handed my package and room keys shown a few things about the resort, told my room was not ready yet, told I had Paddock water view, given the card with the phone number to call about the room and we took off to DTD. Total time 5 min.

We went to DTD and bought APs & TiW ate lunch at Capt Jacks. Called at 12:30 room not ready.

We went to DHS for the afternoon and called at 4:30 for our room. It was ready, the food was delivered, bags delivered.

My opinion this works fine.

Did anyone fax in a room request and then do online check-in. If so, did you get your requests?

Where was the POP online check-in desk exactly? Is it between the main entrance and regular check-in, or regular check-in and the concierge desk?

I did online check in for my stay next week, because I'm checking in during a busy time of year, when there won't be a lot of choice as to room (or in my case, cabin) locations. I didn't even make a room request for this trip, because I know inventory will be limited.

I'm not so sure if I will do online check in for my stay in August or not. I'm staying at BLT on opening day, and I do have some specific room requests. I'm torn between just having the requests on the reservation and doing the online check in, or having the requests on the reservation and just showing up extra early that day to do check-in in person so I can discuss the requests. I don't know if everyone else does online check in, and I don't, if that's going to reduce the available rooms I can choose from if I go in person. So I am very interested to hear how many people receive their requests.

Any experience with changing room location in the "online" check in line?

If I check-in in advance online, can I request a different room, if I don't like what's assigned to me?

If you have experience with this situation, please tell me about it!:goodvibes
