On line booking and borrowing points

I really want to try online booking at the 7 month window for our Aulani trip next year, BUT.....I need to use mostly borrowed points and from 3 different contracts that all have the same use year under our master number. Is that going to be too complex for me to do online?

No, it will simply ask you how many points you want to borrow from each contract, but the total must add up to the exact number you need. The online booking is done very well in my opinion.

You should do a dry run now. You can select dates, view contracts, check things out before 7 months. I wouldn't borrow the points during the test but you can see how things will look.

I'm probably not going to do a dry run anytime soon, because I don't have many points left in my current use year, so I'd have to borrow. I might, however, do a dry run the day before my 7 month window just as if I was "walking" a reservation. That way, I could cancel that one day and still use those borrowed points.

Here's the other problem I have....I WILL have a few points left in the current use year. My trip will take place in the last 2 weeks of my March 2012 use year and almost all of my points for the reservation will have to be made with borrowed 2013 use year points. Will I be able to book all 7 days when I call on that first day if I'm using points from both use years?

A dry run is a great idea. I'm sure I'd screw it up somehow so I'd call.

Yes you should, it will simply mean you want to use up the left over current use year points and then only borrow as many as you need to complete the reservation. As stated above the online will show you how many points you have in each contract and you will have to decide, how many points to use from each.

The only problem will be if you have to cancel all the points are going to go into holding unless you cancel 4 months prior because you are going so close to the end of your use year.

I just made an 11 month reservation for VWL for the marathon nest January. I used banked points, current year points and borrowed points. This was for one member number (only one will come up) but all your contracts for that member number will come up. When I needed to borrow the points, it asked me how many I wanted to borrow and it showed me how many I needed to borrow. I had already banked the points a few months ago.

Since I could only use the home resort points for 11 months out, it did not show my OKW points since I couldn't use them at 11 months out. I was able to reserve either a lock off or a dedicate two bedroom villa.

If you have more than one member number, you will need to select which member number you want to use to make the reservation.
