We are thinking of changing our vaca. from August to Easter for various reasons. For those of you who have tackled the parks during that time, how is it? I'm used to going in early May. Any advice out there for me on how to go about my touring strategy. Also, what's a nice place to eat for Easter dinner? Thanx for your help.

I'm going to bump this back to page one for you. Easter week is much more crowded than August. I'm sure of our veterans will have some advice for you.

Hi litlpixie,

My family and I went Easter week this year. We were there from Friday April 18th to Sunday the 27th. We had an absolutely wonderful time and our longest wait time for anything was 20 minutes. However this was our 8th trip and we know our way around and how to beat the crowds.

First we used Early Entry every morning. We would walk on the Early Entry rides and then when the park was opening to the public we would move on to a different section of the park and be ahead of the crowd.

On Easter EE was at the MK. There were 7 in our group, me, DH, DS who is 16 and our best friends who have a DS 7 and a DD 9. The 2 DH's headed over to Buzz and got fastpasses for the entire group as soon as we got in while my friend and I took our 3 kids straight to Fantasyland. The guys met up with us after the first ride or two. We rode everything in Fantasyland with no wait. Then at 9:00 we were over at the rope drop by the Haunted Mansion. We merged with the incoming crowd going towards Frontier Land. Since we were with the first wave of people we walked on Thunder Mountain and then waited about 10 minutes for Splash. When we got off Splash the wait was well over an hour so we headed to Adventure Land were we walked on Pirates and then on the Jungle Cruise. We then went to Buzz and used our fastpasses while the normal wait was already up to about an hour. We stopped at the Main st. bakery for a late breakfast and then headed out of the park which was now wall to wall bodies. I think it was around 11:00 am at that point. We went over and strolled the Boardwalk for a couple of hours and then went swimming. In the evening we headed back to MK and had our Easter Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern which has always been a favorite of both groups.

I didn't mean to go on so long about only one day but my point is if you know what to do to avoid the lines any time of year is good.

I agree with Cathy K. We basically followed the same routine and never felt like we were in as large a crowd as we were. When we looked at the photos it was funny becasue DH and I wondered why we didn't feel like it was as crowded as it looked in the photos ! LOL The weather is so much better in the spring than in August, and with a plan you should be in good shape.

Thank you sooooo much for your replies. My family tours like you do-we know exactly where we need to be and when, so we are never walking aimlessly around any of the parks. I have already made my Easter ressies, so I'm glad for the positive feedback on that week. As for Liberty Tree, it's one of my favorites and I was thinking that would be a good place to eat. Now, I gotta figure out how to change my countdown!:p
