On dining plan, but need to pay for one meal. Which one...

Like the title says, I am on the dining plan but need to pay for one meal because eating at CRT and Candelight Processional Package. Which meal would be my best bet to pay out of pocket?

Dining with 2 adults, an 8 year old and 4 year old

Sci-Fi Diner (Supper)
Chef Mickeys (Breakfast)
Whispering Canyon (Supper)
Be Our Guest (Supper)

It really depends on what you order, but overall, I'd say Sci-Fi. Of course, I'm assuming that BoG is dinner, and not lunch or breakfast, too.

Sci Fi. it's a great place for apps and milkshakes but even the burgers are not that pricey.

If BoG is breakfast or lunch it is a QS credit not a TS credit.

Sorry, yes, BOG is Dinner. I edited original post. After I posted this I found a Dining Calculator and it looks like Sci-Fi averages out to about $88.74, with Whispering Canyon next at $100.67.

Keep in mind that you don't have to eat like you're on the DDP if you pay OOP, and an entree + milkshake + water at Sci-Fi is really reasonable. If you have kids along, they will let the kids sub a milkshake for dessert as well; or, in any event, our server let my kids do just that.

Yep. My kids both had kid meals last week, and got full size shakes for dessert per the suggestion of our server.

sweet. We are doing the DxDDP so I was going to see if I could get a shake for my drink and for my dessert and give him one. Either way it is shaping up to being way too much dessert but if they will give him his own shake with a kids meal instead of dessert, I will get it for my beverage as well and take the fruit salad to go for a snack later.

mmm pumpkin. i'm sure it will be replaced by some form of peppermint (blech, I do not like mint) for the holidays (we are there in early december). Would have loved pumpkin! but will love chocolate too I think kiddo got oreo in 2014.

Look into the CP Package Cost and CRT. Might make more sense to pay for one of THOSE since they are 2 credits, and then not pay for a meal or even do another meal sometime.

I agree. Generally, on the DDP, it's a better value to pay OOP for a 2 credit meal rather than waste 2 full meals of credits.

I'd agree that generally it is better to pay OOP for a two credit meal and use your credits for one credit meals because the two credit meals rarely cost twice the amount of a one credit meal. If you only need to pay for one meal, Sci-FI.

How many nights are you staying? If 7 nights, you are good with your CRT & Candlelight Processional package and other 3, and pay OOP for Sci-Fi.
My adult daughter and I split the Reuben with fries, an additional side of cucumber salad (which was more like bread and butter pickles). and an Oreo shake which the server kindly split into 2 glasses for us. It was great, and just the right amount of food, and a wonderful meal. I drank water and daughter had a soda, the shake was our dessert. I recommend the Reuben. We were there end of July, so you just feel like eating less.
Sci-Fi is fun, I hope you enjoy, and all have a wonderful trip.
