Christmas Day breakfast consists of coffee, Christmas cookies, and chocolate for us. It's a fun morning for us and we usually eat around noon so we don't need much of a breakfast.

Coffee and tea, some presents, then stockings, then the rest of the presents, and then breakfast.

And it is just me and my husband. We usually save any office gifts and open those Christmas morning, too.

Then, we get in the car and travel and do it at my mom's. Then we travel to dad's and do it all over again too.

Three Christmases. Sometimes we do one on Xmas eve, though.

We get up, get breakfast in the oven baking. We then go thru our stockings. If we get thru the stockings and breakfast is still doing it thing in the oven, then we will start on gifts.

Oh, breakfast is only a quick bowl of cereal here, then its on to the nuts, crisps, nibbles, etc - lunch is never early over here!!! :santa:

I remember scoffing most of the contents of a selection box once when I was a kid and wondered why I felt sick!!!

I dont know if they have them in America, they are a box of assorted chocolate/candy bars.

Breakfast on Christmas Day?! Yeah, right! :lmao:

We have breakfast during presents...which has been known to go on as long as 1pm....big family and then my parents always made us clean up from presents and take our toys to our rooms and THEN we did stockings....it was a sure way to get us moving all the "stuff" out of the way and then the stockings were always a bonus at the end....

Our family treats Christmas breakfast this way, too. I'd be disappointed to have to eat anything other than cookies and stocking treats that morning! :santa:

During.. We usually have some sort of bread.. Holiday bread, pumpkin bread.. Something. With cocoa. :thumbsup2

For all of you that open presents on Christmas Eve, why even bother to get up on Christmas morning? All the excitement and anticipation is over.

We open gifts on Christmas morning. Mom usually makes coffee and we slice some sort of breakfast bread as the first round with coffee and presents. We open gifts one at time, going youngest to oldest. One present per round. It takes a long time but we take a break for breakfast when it is ready.

We go through stockings....then take a break and go get breakfast which usually is tea/hot chocolate, muffins, cinnamon rolls and sometimes eggs and sausage/bacon.
then we take our plates back by the tree and start the present opening.

The kids can get into their stockings and their Santa gift in the family room when they get up. When the adults get up, I slip breakfast into the oven and then we open presents while it is cooking. We do breakfast and then have a party later in the day so we want a big meal. It's the only time each year I make a "breakfast casserole."

Our kids don't even want to stop and eat breakfast after they have opened their presents. Their first meal is usually lunch on Christmas! I have learned to make a cup of hot chocolate or tea while they open their presents to carry me through the morning!
:santa:

BREAKFEST!!!! I'm lucky I can get a cup of coffee in

. Usually bagels come later while reading Instructions.

Stockings are always last to open.

The IL's have a cup of coffee, we all get out of bed, open presents, then have a light breakfast (usually coffee cake, fruit, etc.)

Before and after. The kids open there stockings and then we all open the presents under the tree. Afterwards I make a big breakfast while DH is helping the kids open the presents they want to play with. Then later in the day my whole family meets at my sister's and the kids have a ton of presents to open there from family.

Well, there is Santa, and then we go to my in-laws for the day, so there are presents there. When I was growing up, we had Christmas Eve with my dad's family and Christmas Day was spent with my mom's family. Then, and now, we only did one or two gifts with the whole family. The other gifts were opened when it was "just us."

(the year we could not make it to my in-laws, due to the weather, we did wait to open presents and did it after lunch)
