Have any Tricare beneficiaries been to see the on board doctor for care and know if care is covered? The website says that your fees need to be paid before disembarkment. Can you put in for a reimbursement when you get back to your MTF? Specifically Tricare Prime. Thanks.

Not Tricare, but we paid our fees through our regular stateroom account.

If you have travel insurance, you can submit your claim to them.
They will generally ask for you to submit your claim to your primary coverage first.
Anything your primary doesn't cover, they should cover.

My understanding is that you can file a reimbursement when you get home. But you'll have to pay up front on the ship. I would ask Tricare directly, though, because they are always changing their rules.

All onboard medical fees will be charged through your stateroom account and must be settled before leaving the ship. They will not deal with insurance. It will then be up to the passenger to submit for any potential reimbursement that may be allowed through either your own health coverage or a travel insurance. I don't have Tricare, but be aware that onboard medical services are typically considered to be "foreign" (as in not-U.S.).

Enjoy your cruise!
