On average- how many rides in an hour???

My best guess would be 3 per hour...but not definite... It all depends upon whether you have little ones in your crew, and whether Dumbo is on your list. We have easily done three, when crowds are mild to moderate. Takes time to get to the different rides too! We are two relatively young adults, no kids, and we tend to leave the parks when it at all gets nutty re: crowds...

I believe it's around 12 for most theme parks for an entire day, so let's say 1 to 1.5 per hour.

My source for this is "Managing Capacity and Flow at Theme Parks" by Reza H. Ahmadi, in Operations Research, volume 45, number 1, January 1997. Lots of interesting statistics in there.

Edit: adjusted my per-day figures to per-hour.

idk, i have never really thought about it before. it also depends on what time of year u go. if u go during christmas or a busy time, maybe 5? 6? but if its not busy than maybe 10. depends on how long the line is

On reflection, I doubt that it's possible for a typical family to average more than 2, maybe 2.5 unique attractions per hour over a sustained period in the Magic Kingdom. Around 1.5 to 2.0 sounds about right.

For what it's worth, the highest average attractions per hour I've ever seen anyone achieve in the MK is about 4.2 (that was 42 unique attractions in 9 hours, 59 minutes). These were healthy, fit adults who didn't stop for meals, and walked briskly the entire day.

Hope this helps!

I would say in the Summer it's 2 and in the slower seasons probably 3. This of course, is on a hour where you're primarily doing attractions. You'll do far less in the hours where you are eating, waiting for parades or fireworks, or seeing longer attractions like Carousel of Progress or Cinderella's Surprise Celebration.

Thanks for all your opinions!
This kinda gives me a realistic idea as to what our days may be like.

Well I tell ya in March of last year, O might have squeezed an average of about 3-4 per hour

I think it depends on the rides and time of day.

On Christmas morning we were able to get the Jungle Cruise, Aladdin, Pirates & HM done in the first hour.
Other times when we have done EE at MK and gone straight to Fantasy Land, we have been able to get through 5 or 6 rides in the first hour(those are all quick rides).

in MK, you could probably get 3-4 in an hour. That is like in Fantasyland, when you would go from one to the next, since they are close together, and there is not a big wait. I can't imagine how you could get more than 4/hour, since each attraction is averaging about 15 min (is that accurate) ? Then I would say 2 an hour for the rest of the day.

I'm sure we'll spend alot of time in Fantasyland with our 2yo DD!
But that may also slow us down a little with a stroller and just by "taking it all in!!!"
Can't wait!!!:Pinkbounc

I counted 29 attractions including enclosed shows at WDW's Magic Kingdom. (Including Tiki Birds but not Cinderella's show in front of the castle) Estimating 2,200 guests per hour average per attraction, the total capacity is about 64,000 guests per hour. So if there are 64,000 guests in the park, which I would expect for a very busy day (not ultra busy like Thanksgiving), the average number of rides per guest during that hour cannot be more than one.
