On "average" how long does it take to eat at Boma?

I know it is relative, depending on how many trips you take to the buffet, how crowded it is, etc. but we are on a tight schedule and are hoping to have the first seating at 5:00pm and make it to the Contemporary by 6:45 (we will have our own car). Does that seem feasible?

I'm not sure how long it takes to eat there, but I just booked a 4:30 reservation at Boma for our trip in December. Maybe you will luck out and get one earlier than 5:00.

I saw that dinner starts at 4:30, but we are trying to do the Jammin Jungle Parade at 3:45 in AK, watch it and then exit the park and get to Boma. It says the parade last 15 min. so does anyone think we could get to Boma by 4:30?? Or should stick to 5pm?

Also, trying to get to Contemporary that same night by 6:45....

Keep your 5:00 reservation. You'll never see the parade, exit the park, wait for a tram and drive to the AKL in time for a 4:30 ADR.

You should, however, have no problem getting to the Contemporary for 6:45...provided you are seated at Boma on time. My advice would be to get to Boma as quickly as possible after the parade and check in early. That should give you a better chance of getting seated on time. They don't seat all of the tables at 4:30 so there will be some open at 5:00 and you shouldn't have too long a wait.

Dinner can take as much or as little time as you want. Boma's buffet is set up as pods so you won't have to wait in a long buffet line. Simply go to the pod with the items you are interested in. Oh, and don't miss the Zebra Domes for dessert!

Enjoy!

Since you have your own transportation you should be able to make the
6:45 Contemporary with no problem. Meal at Boma usually takes my wife and I around an hour; however, we don't hang around for after hour coffee and normally only go back for seconds and not thirds or fourths or fifths.

Wonderful! Finally, something is going as I planned. I know everything in Disney takes longer than you expect and we are trying to "cram" it all in!

One or trips to the buffet will suit us, but we do hope to check out the lobby's Christmas tree and maybe catch a few animals if it isn't too dark before heading to the Contemporary.

I think you'll be ok. Good suggestion to show up early if you can.:earsboy:
