So my 40th birthday  comes up on March 25th... and I want to be in "one-derland" by then!! This means that as of tomorrow I have exactly 10 weeks to lose 24 pounds. I hope I can do it, it would be a BIG deal, since I haven't been below 200 for something like 15 years!

I've written the "weeks remaining" number on each Thursday of my desk calendar between now and then, and I've been really working on enlarging my gym repertoire; I only wish I had more time to go! I plan to weight myself only every Thursday and write that number down on my calendar; I have a weakness where I can't seem to walk by the gym's scale without stepping on it! I also have been trying to find things to eat that I like and that are good for me, I've been rummaging through Hungry Girl's site and have found lots of interesting things to try!

Wish me luck!

darsa- good luck to you, you can do it!

i love the "one-derland"! that is my main goal before my bday on march 10th! i've been so close for years, but there is this mental barrier that i have created around that magic 200 number. i'm determined to crash past it this time.
i know how you feel about weighing too often--i had to take the scale out of the bathroom because my will power is nill. but if i weigh too often i will get depressed that the numbers don't drop fast enough and i will start eating junk because it feels hopeless.popcorn::
i am actually considering having my husband look at the scale while i close my eyes so he can email it to my sister and she can pm it in for me on friday.
if we stay on program and do our best, the numbers on the scale shouldn't matter, right???:confused3

good luck to you and all of us trying to get to one-derland. we can do it :yay:

Happy Birthday fellow 39 year old aries! I turn 40 on April 6th!

What a terrific goal for your bday. And, if done properly, I don't think unreasonable or unhealthy. You are pushing the top of what I would consider healthy weight loss, but not out of range.

Lots of cardio, water and rest. Try to eat healthy, but make sure you are eating enough to fuel your workouts!

And, good luck!

Good luck. The weekly weighing is a smart thing to do. I look at checking the scale everyday and panicking like looking at the balance of your stock portfolio every day and panicking. It's a long term game so keep that in mind.
