Omni Champions Gate

Does it really take 40 minutes to drive to Universal from here?
I love the look of the hotel, but a 40 minute drive just doesn't seem worth it!

Where did you see it takes 40 minutes. It would be about 1/2 hour from the Omni. From Disney it would be 20-25 mins.

I did a search on the boards & 40 minutes to Universal from Omni was posted. It seemed like it would be shorter, but I know how traffic can be too, so wasn't sure.

It was 30 mins from my driveway to the Universal exit today.

Yea, 40 mins would have to be because of a slight traffic issue. Champions Gate is at Exit 58 and Universal is Exit 74, so its less than 20 miles. I would say from pulling out of the hotel to entering the parking garage at Universal should be 30 mins or less.

thanks for the replies. It looks like it's a wonderful hotel & the extras are great! ( lazy river, zero entry pool, pets allowed)

Now I have to make a decision!

It's a great hotel. Our family loved the extras. There is a separate resort fee, but we had a great time enjoying the pools and lazy river. The drive is a nice time to unwind at the end of a long day.

Plus they have a lighted 9 hole golf course.

We'll be staying at the Omni in August.
For those who have stayed at the Omni - Can you please recommend non-Omni restaurants? Also, where did you get your laundry done? (since they don't have coin-laundry).
