OMGOSH I am LIVID!!!

OK i gotta chime in here,,, for the last several years i received explicit video catalogs in the mail weekly,, i called and sure enough they had received a signature card signed by "me" how ever i am left handed and have handwriting that is not great... the card they faxed me copy of was a very neat and precise handwriting,, that i recognized as the daughter of a family friend, who we had caught in a bad situation and turned in to her parent.just pointing that out, it could have been another child trying to get ds in trouble that mailed in the card, ( i saw a subscription request card last week in a magazine at the Dr's office , .. We also have a 12 yr old dd who received her first credit card offer at 6 and almost weekly since,, she had the good sense to bring it to us and ask us how do they think i am going to pay this? lol we rewarded that statement with a big spending spree at toy store,, she now gets at least on a month, a while back we got all on one day,, a preaproved offer for dd , one of the cats, both dw and myself, along with one for each of the last three families that had lived in this house including a lady that passed away 28 years ago ( the mother of the previous owner) The mail man thought it was hilarious to deliver that hand full.. he honked and waited on me at the curb to come get the mail that day,, he normally wont deliver junk mail to previous tenants and owners, and redirects what isn't ours,, ( he knows well who lives here since he lives less than 300 ft from us..lol )

wow Froggy that is spiteful!!!

I really dont know if it could be one his friends that would be really low!! Most of his friends are really good kids.

She said it was a mailing list from somewhere.

ohhhhh I remember doing this as a kid....we not only did it to kids we didn't like we did it to our friends who also did it to us ...we had so many magazines and catalogs going back and forth ....I do recall doing playboy and playgirl but that wasn't until we were 12 or so....
My 4 year old got a credit card offer recently as did my deceased Matt who would have been 17....the one that cracked me up was one that came for my dog who has been dead for 4 years!!

I was angry before but thats when I got livid.
I demaded to speak with a manager and she wouldnt put me over and I told her I wanted her supervisor NOW.
The supervisors name was "Nannette" anyway, she told me to fax over the card with a letter syaing when how old he is etc and then she would try to find out where it came from.


My point is there relaly should be some way for them to know that this was a KID not an adult, and that this is serious stuff.

I am not giving up on this. I actually have a call into the FTC (I know some may think its harsh but I want to protect this from happening to some other kid who goes out and gets the mail)
but this was done through the US MAIL and there are laws against it.

I hope I can make a difference.

Binny I would have been more than livid. For the first 2 and half years at the company I work at my supervisor really wasnt a supervisor. Ive been through 4 in 3 years. I would have gladly given the phone to someone other than me!! LOL I have a really good one now who will take any irate caller I cant deal with. She was really out of line accusing your son. Take the name off the list and be done with it. They have to by federal law remove your name as soon as you request it.

Geez, Binny, you sure are starting your son off young Did you order it as an early Christmas gift? Just kidding.

I can't believe that they would send that to a nine year old. I wonder how they got his name. That is just horrible!
