That's somewhat irresponsible of your parents...

Well in the US where she is from the legal age is 21. Personally if you ask me responsibility has NOTHING to do with it. It is an addiction and you can't really control it.

So your saying that if a responsible person has a glass of wine with their food they will be addicted. i know many of my older friends that have drunk alcohol responsibly and legally and have not gone over the top and not made a fool out of themselves or made themselves ill.

Well, if it's parent condoned and you only had one, I guess it's okay, but don't make it a habit. Your liver will hate you.

thanks thats what i was trying to say...glad someones good at explaining stuff...i can never get my point across clearly :)

Your liver will hate you and you could eventually get whats called Cirrhosis, which is when your liver gets scarred, and then if it gets really bad, then it basically pickles, and you die.

Responsibility has everything to do with it. If you are responsible enough to control your alcohol consumption in the first place, then you won't become addicted.

Thats true, in most cases, but sometimes you'll get someone with an addictive personality (its a mental condition. not something they can control. I have one) and just trying something can get them hooked. Even if they try to be responsible.

That's what I was attempting to say. I am terrible at getting my point across.

as said, over here the legal drinking age is 18

our science teacher asked us to raise our hands if we had a drug when he said it and i was the only one not to put my hand up (that was also for legal drugs though) so i was quite suprised.

If someone knowingly had that disorder, then why on earth would they consume alcohol? Anyway, it is not like every alcoholic has that mental condition. Most likely, very few do.

For people who do not have that condition, responsibility still has everything to do with addiction. If someone were responsible enough to choose not to drink alcohol, then they wouldn't become addicted. You can't become addicted if you haven't tried any yet. It's a choice that you make on your own, and choosing wisely and controlling yourself is, in itself, responsibility.

thats the key of your post.

Most people don't KNOW they have it.

my mom just let me drink a whole mikes hard cranberry lemonade. ITS AMAZING! omg i want sawnther 1 wso vbad.!!!![/SIZE]

You seem like you're having issues typing. maybe alcohol isn't right for you...wait...something's coming to me...oh...that's right! ITS ILLEGAL! Gosh darn, I knew there was something wrong with this situation. Alcohol can ruin your life and your teenage years are when you're most likely to develop an addiction. Don't do it again. At least, wait until you're 21 and legally able to. Then, if you do drink, and you drink too much and somebody dies, they can charge you as an adult, and you can go to jail. And lose your liscence. And have a horrible life. Oh, and if you keep drinking consistently after that, your liver will really hate you. Forever. You really don't need alcohol to have fun. Actually, you have more fun without it because then you can remember all the fun you had.
