OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

Talked to the sales person at TRU and they said that if you call they've been told to tell people they don't have any when they have some on the shelf. Limiting 4 hamsters at a time or 2 of the four pack set. Some of the stores get hamsters this week and then next week they get the accessories.

See this is another reason why I hate TRU! I refuse to shop there. Their employees are not knowledgeable on basic store policies, the policies themselves are ridiculous, and they lie to their customers! Last week my grandma went to TRU because over the phone I was told they had the funhouse (I was homebound with kids that day). It is a big deal for her to get out, but she did anyway. She got there only to find that they had zero Zhu Zhus! Nothing! And when she talked to the manager he did not even apologize for the employee lying to me over the phone. I am sure they thought that once she got in the store she would buy something else...well guess what, did not happen and will never happen again. This is the 3rd time I have been bitten by TRU, I am done with them!

Funny story. I had to return a pair of pants at sears. They don't open until 10. I decided to stop by TRU since j had to wait anyways. I don't like TRU and it doesn't open until 10. This is crazy. TEN??? I start working at 6:30. there is a line up outside of TRU and I suspect they are ZZP hunters. I didn't come prepared for a hunting expedition. It could get dangerous. Wish me luck. I'm a lover, not a fighter.

DS has never seen the commercials either! I am getting them because I know he will like them. DH said, "I have no clue what these things are...you need to stay off the DIS!" Thanks dear!

Anyone in the Harrisburg, PA area? My daughter sees the commercials for zhu-zhu pets every evening and had declared that all she wants for Christmas are Chixos and zhu-zhu pets.

I go online twice a day to check whether or not items are in stock at my local Wal-Mart or Toys R Us. The results claim there is nothing in stock and checking other area strores in a 50 mile radius yields the same results. Are the stores just not updating when they get stuff in because it sells out so quickly? Has anyone had any luck shopping for these items in the evening after work and actually finding something?

I was jsut at the store in Quakertown....NADA! They even have an 'out of stock' sign up that said more are on order...no one could tell me when that order would come in!

I also checked the Target in Q-town....that don;t even have them on the shelves and don't know when/if they will get them.

I stopped into the Hallmark in the same plaza to see, if my any chance, they had them...they said no, but if they got them it wouldn't be until Dec!!!!!!!!

So my search continues!

Last thing DD9 got obsessed about was Webkins and we waited as long as we could then it finally hit, she went nuts about them and loves them....well the codes anyways. Thanks goodness we havent seen these commercials. NO MORE TV til after her b day and X Mas

The Great Hamster Hunt of 2009 has ended for me! I got 1 hamster today, not a set, just 1 yellow hamster to go with the ball I got for my DD. I am done Christmas shopping! Pixie Dust to those just beginning the hunt...took me 1 1/2 weeks to find the 1 hamster, but it is already wrapped and ready.

I have no idea how accurate it is, but the ToysRUs website is now saying that several stores in my area have zhu zhu pets in stock. Yesterday at this time, no availability anywhere around me. I also checked in Maryland because my sister is looking for her daughter. Several there have been updated with store availability since yesterday also.

I guess I'll try to track some down tonight.

I've been to tons of Walmarts this week. Most just have the funhouse. TRU, I did get the ball and skateboard. I had found the funhouse and wheel last weekend. No hamsters anywhere though. Stopped in Hallmark yesterday too: nothing.

Anyway, tried another new Walmart today. Talked to the stocker and she said she had tons of hamsters YESTERDAY and the garage etc. Figures, if I only knew...She said she has alot on order though and keep checking back. She also said there is a "collector" who keeps buying a bunch. I said "yeah right, a collector" She laughed.

Let the great hunt continue!!

Don't count on it! My DD9 also loves Webkinz & has already been asking for these several times. Unless you don't watch any kid TV, then she has probably seen these!

I found the last funhouse at one Walmart but no hamsters at 2 Walmarts or TRU. They did all have some the parts though - ball, garage, wheel, skateboard,etc. I am only getting DD & DS the house & car (which I've found) and they can each have a hamster - if I can find them. I don't know how much they'll get into all the stuff plus I don't want to store all that stuff.

I wonder how many they are allowing the "collector" to buy. At ours, there is a sign w/a 4 limit purchase, though I know people find ways around it anyway.

I will miss it when they outgrow the need for me to hunt stuff down. I do like the thrill of the chase even though it's annoying to find them out repeatedly.

Went to TRU today @ 10am opening. They told us the truck came with the Zhu Zhu's but because of the Nascar race this weekend and all of the campers(our TRU is right in front of Dover Downs) it was not able to deliver the merchandise and too it back to the warehouse. I guess my great Hamster accessory hunt will have to continue next week after all the race fans have gone home.

Score we were out of town heading to an attorneys office to close on our new house when we got a call that there was a problem and we could not close today. we turn around and there is a Walmart, we run in real quick and they had 2 hamsters I was so excited, already got the car and garage and a couple of other accessories. Good luck to everyone else, we may not have a new house today but I got 2 zhu zhu pets.

On Walmart.com you can do the "find in store" feature for the funhouse, but it says the hamsters are not sold in stores...yeah right! lol

I am seriously thinking about getting my 2 year old up at 6am so I can go to Walmart and see if they received any Zhu Zhu's!! I would go myself at 2am or so, but DH is out of town!

Caribear: In my area you have a better chance of finding them at Walmart in the evening. That is when they restock. I have also fouund that they tell you the truth over the phone. TRU is the opposite, they have fresh stock usually only in the morning and they lie all the time!
