OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

NO, not at all!

How about you, any luck....anywhere? :confused3

I am way out East. We were able to get the 4 pets this am at the Riverhead Toys R Us. See my last post about the accessories.:headache:
Walmart in Riverhead had everything last week from what I was told today. They told me their trucks come in on Tuesdays.

Not sure where you guys are.

The TRU an hour from us had several accessories available yesterday, but not a single pet! There were probably 12 pegs or more where they hang on the wall, and empty..with a sign saying, "4 per person/day". I was glad to at least get some of the accessories! My dd will be so excited! :cheer2:

Toys R Us in Framingham, MA has tons of accessories today. No hamsters though.

OK....I WANT TO KNOW WHO IS HOGGING ALL OF THE HAMSTERS????!!! :rotfl:

My Great Hamster Hunt 2009 is DONE!!!!! In bits and pieces I have gotten everything I wanted to get by going to different stores almost daily

all 4 hamsters (today, my WM had just 4 left...the lady in the isle thought I was nuts!)
funhouse
car
wheel
ball
surfboard
sleeping bag/ carrying cases

Is there anything I am missing? I sure hope not!

Apparently the WalMart near us has an employee hogging all the hammies. :sad2:

Last night at closing we were told there was a pallet of Hamsters in the back but the woman in charge wanted to put them out a few at a time to make them last, so I should come back first thing this morning when the shelf would be restocked. Imagine my surprise when I got there extra early, only to see the shelf exactly the same as I'd left it.

I asked a teen when they'd be put out and was informed that the boxes in the back "disappeared" overnight while the store was closed. Another lady working in toy dept said she'd seen the pallet of boxes in the back yesterday with a sign on it saying "hold for employee" and that they were gone now b/c the employee had already bought them all. Don't need to wonder what they're going to do with 60 hamsters, do we... :rolleyes1

now you just have to get the next 4 hamsters when they're released-lol!

I finished up yesterday with these! On Saturday I went to one TRU & got 1 hamster & 1 funhouse. Yesterday I went to a different TRU. We got there at 9:00am, 1 hour before they opened. My friend & I were #11 & 12 on line. A woman who works there came out & told us she got 20 cases & that we could get 1 hamster & 1 playhouse piece per purchase, but we could feel free to get back on line & come back in until they sold out.

By the time the store opened, there were 40 people on line, so I didn't think there would be anything left to go back in again, but we actually lined up & checked out a total of 4 times! So yesterday I got 2 more hamsters for my kids, the ramp/slide, the ramp/wheel and the car/garage for my kids. Plus I was able to get a ramp/slide, ramp wheel and a hamster for my friend, who was going to meet me at the store, but her car broke down.

I know there are other pieces, but my kiddos now have to open on Christmas morning, and enough parts to have fun with it! So I am now officially out of the Rat Race!

BTW, if you live in NJ, the store I lucked out in was the TRU on rt 35 in Hazlet. They get their deliveries on Wed am. Eatontown TRU, Thursday & Saturday.

OMG!! That is just wrong!!:sad2:

Probably the same thing that is going on in my neck of the woods!!

The black n white hammie is pretty cute!

Just wondering... if faced with the choice of just one or two items are any hammies or accessories harder to find/more popular than others? :confused3

I know DD8 would be thrilled to have the pink one but didn't realize they weren't out yet. She's got a pink hammie and clothes on her list. Guessing those'll be even harder to find in stock. Maybe I should start watching ebay for zhu zhu now instead of waiting to find locally - do you all expect prices to get better or worse as the holidays near?

DD8 still believes in Santa for what is probably the last year. I'd hate to add fuel to the fires of doubt before absolutely neccessary...

Ebay is already WAY expensive....bet it'll just get worse and worse.

I was so angry this morning I thought about calling the store manager to complain but was afraid I'd get the two employees who were kind enough to tell me the truth in trouble so I bit my tongue and left quietly. It's got to be tempting for employees but you'd think there'd be some oversight too - I noticed a wanted ad on craigslist offering "$13 a unit for quantities up to 500" that I figure has to aimed at stores' employees.
