OMG! We did it!

I can't believe we decided to do it...but we just changed our reservations from POFQ to WILDERNESS LODGE for our upcoming trip. We have always said we can't justify the cost of a Deluxe but the more and more we look at it the more we wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge. So we called this morning and the price was $1600 more but my husband said you know we have our trip almost paid off already and we have MONTHS to pay on it still. If we don't get it paid off my December we'll just take $1,600 from my bonus and finish paying for it. SO I DID IT! I am sooooo excited and so is our DD. We got a Woods View with 2 Queens. Kind of surprised me that she didn't want the bunk, but she wanted a full Queen to herself.
Sorry so long...just had to share my excitement!!!!!

Congratulations! You will love Wilderness Lodge!! We are going back next June and I can't wait!! We'll be staying at Pop for our 4-night November trip, but we plan on going to WL to see the Christmas decorations.

Thanks! We are so excited. I just called my only Disney Crazy friend and told her. She is excited for us. They always stay at the Starwood hotel chain there so she doesn't know anything about the Dis resorts but she's happy too.

You will love the Wilderness Lodge! It is an excellent resort! Make sure to try out the Whispering Canyon Cafe!

We are also staying at the WL in November! We can't wait. I almost changed to POP. So many things have happened to the bank account that I am having a hard time justifying the extra $$ on a deluxe. I am going to hold out and see if I can come up with the extra $$. This will be our last trip for quite a while. I have always wanted to stay at WL!!

YAY! That's so exciting. I love the feel of the WL. We had a woods view in July, and we were on the fourth floor. We could see the fireworks from MK in the distance, but we had a tree in our way. The floors above us definitely had a clear view!

Have been visiting WDW since 1981, Poly, CR, CBR...all the rest, but swore I'd never stay at WL - want to see Palm Trees in Florida That was until we visited WL when it was decorated for Christmas

Sooo, my friend and I are going for a 'girls only' long weekend to celebrate a couple of big birthday's..hers the big 4 0 and me the big 6 0 and guess where we're staying? Yep, at WL Arriving November 30, so will be 4 nights at that beautiful Lodge.

How do you all like the new rooms? The decor looks rather dark and heavy - is it better in person? Booked a Courtyard view so hope to hear that waterfall!

Renee - really enjoyed your TR and am usually not a reader of TR's Great that you and Lindsay will get down for a few days in November! Will you be there late enough for the decorations to be up? Glad you enjoyed the TR. We will be at Pop November 18-22 (leaving Thanksgiving Day), so I'm pretty sure Christmas decorations will be up. I've never been there that time of year, so I am really looking forward to it!

Oh yes, the Christmas decorations will be up. We were at Pop the week before Thanksgiving, we checked out on the Friday before Thanksgiving and the Christmas Tree was already up. It was so magical........one day it wasn't there, the next morning, it was there.........pretty cool!

Wow sound great you will love WL and the atmosphere of staying at a deluxe just a little warnign after you stay at a deluxe it is VERY hard to down grade

You're going to love it. It's our favourite resort. It's beautiful and I keep hearing about transportation issues there but we had none. We loved the boats and the buses were just fine.

I know ecactly how you feel. We (5) upgraded from POFQ to my dream Poly. My DH said, "Just do it!." I will work overtime.

Thanks for all the good wishes! I thought I was already Disney crazed but knowing that we are going to WL has just set my head spinning!

We get to start booking our dining on 9/15 and we have had the TS figured out for months and TODAY the family has thrown out 2 of the meals (3 TS) and is nowing bargaining about where we should go.
