Booked with DU and have been checking reservation almost every hour to see of DU has our stateroom numbers. None there.
:(

Called DCL to ask Q about visa card and thought I would ask about our stateroom numbers. I know others have gotten numbers when others have not.

Sooooo I took the chance and asked if she could tell me if we had rooms assigned figuring I would email DU and ask the numbers.
I gave her our DCL reservation number and she told me our room numbers. WOW Both rooms upgraded from cat 11's to cat 9's on deck 2 almost right next door to each other. We had been prepared for rooms on different floors opposite end of the ship.

I am soooo surprised. We have been trying to figure out how we would handle it of one of us got an upgrade but the other couple didn't. I never even thought we would both get upgrades. :bounce: :bounce:

Should we get excited yet since our rooms are not showing up on our DU reservation or can we celebrate?

Is the window in a cat 9 the same size as the cat 8?

One room is on the noisy zone and the other is not. I sleep with a sound machine or fan on at home so I like some noise.

Sorry to ramble on.

anyone have any pictures of the cat 9?
Thanks
PD

That is really great news!

We had cat 9 in Dec and really enjoyed the 4 foot porthole view and also the split baths!! Yes, according to the brochure the cat 8 - 9 are same size window and 214 sq ft.
Enjoy the upgrade!!! ;)

Hi Padre Disney

When Disney advises us of upgrades, we update the reservations right away.

Obviously we have not been advised of this yet.

If you wish, send an e-mail to reservations@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com with your reservation information and we will be more than happy to check into this for you.

That's great news! I am so happy for you. Do you know where you are on Deck 2? I am in 2548 (mid forward).

fyreworks,
I'm waiting for DU to make sure if DCL was correct with the info they told me BUT
I thought DCL said we had room 2584.:Pinkbounc That would even put us on the same side of the ship as you and just down the hall. :bounce: :bounce: Our relatives have room 2588. I really hope everything checks out to be true.
I can't tell you how happy our group will all be if we end up getting the upgrades and having our rooms be that close together.

Do you have early or late dinner?

I have the early dinner. No way my DS will wait until 8:30 for dinner! Then again, he might not eat at all (or eat with the Kids Club) But I was thinking of him when I requested the main seating.

Donna thanks for the confirmation.

We are half excited and half not sure what to think.

VERY grateful for the upgrade but not sure how well we will do on that low of a deck with a view. We have only stayed on deck 7. In the cat 5 verandah I was sick, cat 10 inside I felt great.

4nana has stayed on deck 2 and liked it. So that makes me feel better. Is it true that the sway of the ship is less the lower the deck you are on? I looked at some pictures of the cat 9 that mmouse had and the water looked very close to the window when the waves were high.

Since this is a last minute trip with out the kids for our anniversary we are going to enjoy ourselves. I don't think I will tell the other couple about the cat 9 room until the last minute. It will be a surprise for their honeymoon trip.

Guess we might see you down the hall. Oh, we have late dinner.

PD,

Welcome to the belly of the ship! I think it will work out OK. I was starting to get claustrophobic thinking about my cat 11 stateroom when I got that upgrade. (DCL read my mind!) I know I am going to love the ocean view. I do wonder how high up the water gets. Where are these pictures you are talking about?
I wonder if you feel like you're in a submarine on Deck 1 with the 2 little portholes instead!

Deck 2 jitters

Oh, and now I am thinking about switching to late dinner. I was just reading the Navigators last night and thinking about how much stuff happens during our scheduled dinnertime. I still don't think DS will wait that long for food (and by 8:30, he will probably be getting sleepy!) Then again, would I want him to sleep over dinner, or over the shows? Hmmmm...

Padre Disney ~

So glad your upgrade has been confirmed!!
I really think you will like deck 2. It is very convenient, with less commotion, little movement felt and it looks like your rooms are mid-ship. The big windows are no problems really. Yes, the water is just a few feet down, but you can always close that curtain....LOL!! Enjoy!!

:) Thanks for the link fryeworks. I am glad that others have stayed in cat 9 on deck 2 and liked it. I am getting more excited by the minute. I just hope I don't get sick.

Try this for the pictures.

We love late dinner.
