As I just printed out my SWA boarding passes I was on the front porch getting the paper.

Our new neighbors up the street were walking their dog and stopped to say HI. In talking I told them we were leaving tomorrow for The World.

He then told me they are going for their First Time and leaving on the 24th and coming home on Newyears. I explained that this was not a total lost but be prepaired that these are the busiest days at The World.

I will gather them some Info from the house as he asked were there any Parades .Not sure if I want to put them on the boards as it might be overload for them .

Please send these disney Virgins all the Pixie Dust you can they are such a nice couple he is a teacher so this is why they choose that week.

Some people just DON'T get it! ;) A co-worker of mine wanted to know "how cheap the rooms are for Jan." I had to explain to them, you should have made ressies 3 months ago, to get a GOOD price! I handed them a "Budget Travel" book with off-site hotel prices! :confused3

Thats another thing they used Expedia and are staying off-sight only 3 miles away in I think a HOJO maybe a Holiday Inn.

If they are easy going souls who don't know what all there is to do at WDW to begin with, they should be fine. They will be so overwhelmed by everything going on around them that they will most likely find it fascinating. It is those that going expecting to do everything and knowing what they are missing that tend to have the problems. Don't dwell on the negative in front of them. Just encourage them to go with the flow and they will be fine.

Not having ADRs at this time of year is a problem, but they will be able to eat if they are not too picky. DD and I always spend time at the parks at this time of year and we have a blast. Often we only do a couple of rides, but we have a great time soaking up the atmosphere, eating, shopping and just being together.

And they probably have NO reservations for any meals.

I'm sure but on the up side they are just the 2 of them and young use to the camping/hiking thing so this may not be a hugh problem .

I just ran them up a visitors guide and the last 2 planning Videos. We will pick them up some park maps and guides when we get down tomorrow.

This sound like the first time dh and I went. We didn't have a clue. Our ignorance was bliss, because we didn't realize all that there really was to do. I think if we did we really would have been overwhelmed and might not have gone.

Oh. My. Goodness. Those poor people.

Here's what I would do for them:

(1) I would recommend the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World.
(2) I would print off the the Crowd Level Calendar from Touring Plans . com. It will give them an idea of which park is the best for each one of their days. I think they take EMH into account. They DO NOT want to be in an EMH park that week if they can help it!
(3) I would explain the need for them to be at the parks when they open. If they wait until after 9:00 AM to try to go into the MK they will NOT get in!
(4) I would explain the Fast Pass system to them.

Here's hoping they will be OK :wizard:!

UGH! I feel for them. We are leaving tomorrow night, coming back on the 25th. We discussed staying a few extra days, but just decided that we would already be worn out and the crowds would just overwhelm us.

Aghh.... WHY WOULD SOMEONE GO THERE FIRST TIME OVER CHRISTMAS? AHH!! I pray for them and give them pixie dust....

They may be the busiest, but they are the most beautiful days at WDW. That makes up for a whole lot of inconvenience. Do they have children? If not, even a packed house won't seem as nervewracking as when you have a couple of toddlers with you. ;)

If you can, let them know about the meals at the WDW hotels. If they aren't too picky about the times, 2 people can usually get a PS.

Anyway, I think they'll have a ball in spite of the crowds.

See I'm thinking YouareaPrince :thumbsup2!

Our very first trip to WDW was during Christmas week. We knew it would be busy. Thanks to these boards and the Unofficial Guide, we had a great trip. We made a list of "must sees", got to the parks early, and had a touring plan. We decided that not getting to see everything was a perfect excuse to come back!

Well I just talked to Josh and he said they had just a wonderful time. Enjoyed the waits in line looking for Hidden Mickey's.

They did the water parks a good bit.and used my advise about always keeping a fast pass in their hands.

He did say they decided to do the 3 hour wait for Safari WOW.

They also got a few ADRs while in the parks and he really enjoyed his New Years EVE at Flying Fish.He said Other then that they just went with the flow and eat at CSs or off sight.

Glad it worked out for them.
My mil was telling me last week about someone she knows that got to MK at about 4:oo and then "they were forced to leave and pay another $4o each to get back in!"
:sad2: I explained that obviously it was a MVMCP night and if they'd read up on the trip AT ALL they would have known that. And MVMCP is optional.:sad2:
