OMG- the heat!!!

We were there 6/9 - 6/17- every day at least 95  not counting the heat index. Weirdly, we found we felt better the longer we stayed in the parks. :confused3 I was so hot when we walked in- it feels like you go blocks without any shade. But once we were in, we would stop and rest and drink- I resorted to dribbling the (free) ice water on the top of my head to cool down. I saw people with wet washcloths on their heads instead of hats :thumbsup2 and some with umbrellas. Sometimes we just had to stop and sit in the shade for 20 minutes and then we would get refreshed again. (sort of :rotfl2:) and we ate lunch at airconditioned sit down places. when it wa time to leave, the walk out of the park was brutal- a few other parts we found to be extra hot was walking through "Hollywood" (argh no shade!) and Suess Landing. But once we got deeper into the park we found shade and misters to help cool us down.

Yes, the Florida heat has definitely been bad this year.
Just make sure you take little breaks and go into a show or a ride in the a/c.
A small misting fan might be of some help. If not, the water rides will definitely be refreshing.

Also, when it's really hot/humid, we will wear our swimsuits under our clothes for the water rides and then when we get back to the hotel, we go straight to the pool to cool off.

We were there all last week. Sunday and Monday were pretty rough, but we really enjoyed the lack of lines of the attractions at US/IOA. The super-cooled gift shops and indoor rides were our savior. Going to the parks at or after 6PM really helped, too.

We have always found getting to the parks early is essential when visiting in the summer months as it's cooler, parks are quieter too.
Only problem is a lot of the rides do not open at 9am, which is kind of frustrating when you have children and want to get on Woody, Barney and Jaws etc

We were just there and the humidity is brutal but thats the perks for staying onsite is when it gets too hot we just headed back to the hotel for a rest and cool down :thumbsup2

Did you and DW have a good time without the kids? We are leaving Friday for the week, we can't wait!

We had a blast and wish the we could have stayed longer but now I have to deal with some charges to my credit card that don't look right but hope they can clear it up soon :thumbsup2

In Kuwait (where I work and am living right now) it's about 140 right now. The Florida heat will feel gooooood when I get home to it!!

Glad you had a great time. Hope you get the charges corrected soon.:thumbsup2

That's when you loop over & over onto Blutos Bilge-Rat ride with your FOTL pass! :cool1:

We were at Disney/US/IOA for our honeymoon May 17-22 when it rained endlessly. :headache: I remember replying to someone's post that asked if they should cancel their plans because it was scheduled to rain the same week. I told them something like "It blows over, and 10 minutes later you have sunshine". Not. It rained all. week. long.
