OMG the ads on disboards have gotten out of control!

I am having a hard time reading the Dis! I used to just get skinny ads inbetween, but now a GIANT popup takes over most of the page! Anyone else have this issue?

ME! I've seen the giant ad at top HALF of the page on two different computers a few times over the past 2-3 days.

Ad blocker works great on the desktop, really no invasive ads. No ad blocker on phone, horrible experience.

Every once in a while I get an ad for something that would not be allowed as a topic on these same boards.

No, they aren’t ads for things I’ve searched for, because currently I have an ad for Toyota (don’t own a car, not researching one), and Foggy Love (looks like a clothing store, never heard of it).

Hmmm. I haven't had any at all on the DIS. I would check and see if it's been turned off somehow. I've never had any problem with ads on the DIS...ever. But I've used Adblock Plus and keep it updated.

I'm using Chrome, if that matters.

I use Chrome..I check it once a week to make sure its on..so I know it's been on..but the last 2 days the ads are going nuts on this board.

I have no trouble with Chrome on my desktop with an adblocker. It is a nightmare of ads and popups on my phone though.

On Chrome, there's nothing to check. You should be able to look at the upper right corner of your browser and see a little red stop sign with the letters ABP. If that icon is grayed out, Adblock is OFF.

Interestingly, my security suite only ranks the DIS security as a C+ for "Unknown Privacy Practices".

Do you use a mobile device or computer? As @Dan Murphy says, I have no issues on a PC (I have adblockers), but my phone and tablet show lots of ads.

PC. I have 64 year old eyes, a device wouldn't cut it.
