I have to say upfront that I love my MIL. She's always been great to me. We just recently visited my in-laws over the holiday weekend and I am really beginning to think that she is getting dementia.
Here's the scoop. My BIL (who is 28) lost his job about a year and a half ago and he's back home with Mom and Dad. I've always felt that she wants to keep him at home, baby him, etc.
So DH, BIL and I went out one night to a comedy club and he told us a story. About a year or so ago when he had his own apartment, he got a call from his Mom around 9pm on a Friday night. Did not return the call as he was out with buddies. Fast forward to the next morning around 8am. BIL is at home with a woman he met the night before. Then he hears a commotion and firefighters along with his mom burst through his door and into his bedroom!!!
The unclothed woman runs into the bathroom to hide while BIL deals with his mom who is in tears and the firefighters who are trying not to laugh!
His mom said since he didn't return the call she was afraid he went into diabetic shock.
Then he said recently that she started talking to him about the birds and the bees and if he ever thought of "doing anything" he should use protection.
Our advice to BIL is to move far, far away. MIL has always been a little too involved with BIL and his life/choices. He's kind of using that to his advantage as well, but that was way over the top!
Just thought I would share! Anyone else caught in flagrante delicto?

It is kinda sad, she has done so many crazy things that I am really sketchy on the details. *sigh*
Okay, I'll share my slightly embarassing moment. When DD was about 2, we stopped by MIL's house and she asked to keep our daughter for a couple hours. (We only lived about 3 miles away). We happily agreed, went home, locked up (thank god) and ...
"Um, I was in the back, doing laundry. Didn't hear you."
"DD missed you guys and wanted to come home..."
