After putting the cream cheese into her grits BB became
the first joke of the trip-EVERYTHING was better than
cream cheese on grits!

We had very little interaction with the characters at the breakfast.
Pooh and Alice came by, we got pictures with both and then
concentrated on eating-I guess when there are 6 adults and 1
child, PB is 9, food is priority to character interactions.

Before going to MK, we all went back to our rooms to freshen up.
We were supposed to meet at the monorail, but HG and me
found the family shopping, so we joined them. The Mickey Shop
at the GF has a very good selection; pins, kids clothing and toys,
stickers, postcards, and jewelry, etc. Then it was off to the
monrail. While waiting, I mentioned to WB to ask if PB could ride
up front. They had done this when PB was 7, it scared the pants
off of her. There were 3 spaces available, so WB, PB and Dad
rode with the driver. PB enjoyed it this time...

We got to MK around noon, did the obligatory shop hopping,
and headed for tomorrowland. PB wanted to do SM, which she
chickened out of last trip, swearing she'll ride it this time.
The wait was about 40 minutes so I explained Fast Passes to
everyone. We all agreed to FP SM and headed for the Carousel
of Progress. This is one of the few rides I've never done-it's cute.
"It's a great big beautiful tomorrow," still runs through my head!
Of course it got stuck-and the first scene was filled with
"please remain seated, the ride will continue in a moment."
Dad was asking, "who stood up?"

Eventually we made it out of the COP and headed back to SM,
it was already time for our FP's. Why do I get so much pleasure
passing that long line and still feel so guilty? I don't get it,
but I like it...
we really thought PB was going to chicken out but she rode SM
and loved it. Dad and WB rode with PB-I swear they were trying
to scare her off the ride, typical, but she maintained.
Mom doesn't do roller coasters at all, so she and BB went to
do the people mover. HG and I rode SM behind PB, WB and Dad.

We met up again outside of SM and went to do Buzz-
Only a 10 minute wait. We almost had 2 wipe-outs
trying to get on the conveyor belt people loader thing!
I got top score-I get to be Commander!
Everyone else was busy shooting each other and didn't score
very well, oh well...it was fun.

We let PB, as the only child, decide most of what we did.
Her next choice was the Indy Cars-so armed with a LARGE
lemonade, it was quite hot that day, we waited in the 40 minute
line. We all got our own cars but PB decided Aunt HG was being
driven today. HG is a good sport like that, a little scared of PB's
driving, but a good sport.

We were all dragging by now, so I told them about Mickey's
Philharmagic and we headed over to Fantasyland to check it
out. Excellent Show!!! We laughed, we grabbed, we jumped
and we got wet! And we cooled off, the real reason for this
destination was for the air conditioning...

After MP, only HG and me stayed, everyone else was going back
to rest and swim. HG and me were headed to BTMRR and Splash
Mountain. We FP'd BTMRR and waited in line for Splash.
What a line!!!!!! 40 minute line, and hot as it gets! We learned
to keep napkins in our bags for sweat blotting, it was hot!
We had a bit of a show while in line-2 school choirs were in
line, one in front and one behind us-they were singing songs
together and "hooting" at each other the whole time.
It was an interesting sight for us people watchers...

We got to talking with the family behind us, from NC. GDad, Dad
and 2 kids. Mom was waiting for them in front of the big drop.
We even got to share the boat with them...everyone really
enjoyed the ride, we were ALL waiving to "Mom," every time we
came around and saw her. We got SOAKED!!! We were grateful
for the soaking by then! We had only 5 minutes left to use our
FP for BTMRR, so we were off!

The lines are so well hidden in the parks, we thought the FP was
a waste-it looked like no-one was in line! Until we walked
through the line maze-the FP turned out to be a good idea,
we got right on, the line was actually about 25-30 minutes long.
Another great ride.

Food next! We hadn't eaten since breakfast...we went into
the restaurant just outside of Splash, of course I can't remember
the name of it. The chili dogs looked good, until we ate them,
our stomachs didn't appreciate the chili at all...

We intended to hop to Epcot for the fireworks and it was already
about 6pm, so we hopped the train to the maingate and headed
back to the hotel-we got into our swimsuits and headed for
pool. The bar is conventient, but rediculously expensive!
A mixed drink was about $8-HG decided on juice and I had
an Amber Boch, they were only $5. We relaxed in the pool
and went to the jacuzzi for a while...it was such a long day.

By the time we were ready to go to Epcot, it was almost 8:30,
we went anyway...I was afraid-there was lightning storm that
night-and when it struck, it looked like it was right over Epcot,
we went anyway. We got on the monrail, the first time I ever
rode it to Epcot...I'm usually a pretty strong person, but this
scared me. Picture HUGE lightning strikes, in a windowed,
electrically run vehicle-I was scared...

HG wasn't, she convinced me everything was ok. The rain started
as soon as we got off the monorail. We knew the fireworks
wouldn't start until the rain stopped, so we headed for
Mousegears. And shopped, and shopped, and shopped;
then we heard a BANG!!!

The fireworks had started! We ran out to see the show,
caught a spot near the Canada side railing. There were alot
of people out there, even with the storm, we couldn't see much
over the crowd...we enjoyed the show anyway.

We took our sweet time leaving, HG did some more shopping.
The shops are supposed to close at 10, we left Mousegears
at 10 minutes after 10. By that time, no-one was left. We took
some pictures of each other in front of the "golfball." There were
life size topiaries in the center garden of Mickey and Goofy
and we just HAD to have pictures with them.

We headed back on the monorail and were the last ones
off that night. We each got a beverage from the hotel pub,
prices are a little better there than at the pool bar. We went to
Gasparilla's, popped some popcorn-got some soda to keep
in the room and headed up for the night.

Next up: Part 6-MGM in the rain...
