He sees "something" past through my kitchen EVERY SINGLE day! He's home during the day and often up late at night, spending time in the living room, facing the kitchen. Just a few minutes ago we were in the bedroom (directly off the kitchen) and we heard a giant BOOM. I thought for sure an entire window shattered. It was the glass "shade" from one of the lights on the ceiling fan. But...

That prompted him to grab my hand and bring me to the living couch. Where he sat me down and informed me that on a daily basis he sees "shadows" of someone going through the kitchen into the bedroom!!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Now I've heard/seen things that havent felt right, but now I don't ever want to sit in my living room again, and I assure you I will not be looking into the kitchen!!!!

Aggghhh! Do you live in an old house? I would have the major creeps, too!!!

That IS creepy! But, since this isn't a trip report, I'm going to move this to the community boards. :goodvibes

Sorry, that's just me. I live in the closet and go that way to the bathroom. I wasn't the one that broke the light though, that was the little gremlin who lives in the air ducts and makes those funny noises that you think is the furnace.

:rotfl2::dance3:

That is creepy.

We rented a house while ours was being built. One night our 3-4 year old comes out of her room and aske us who that man sitting on the end of the bed watching TV with her was.

I am had a stroke, and ran in there, but saw nothing. We would wake up and the fridge would be open, lights had been turned on or off, very wierd.

My wife or I never saw a figurer, but my daughter said this guy would come sit with her, and the dogs and cats would freak out at certain times at something we could not see.

I guess the bottom line though is this. Besides being an little naughty, by leaving the fridge or freezer open all night for something to thaw, and lights on. Nothing bad ever happened. My daughter is now 9 and still talks about that ghost guy.:sad2:

TAPS is just down the road from you, you should give them a call. :rotfl: Do you live in an old house? How long have you lived there? Ever had anything else happen before?

There very well could be a logical explanation for the shadows also. It's possible that it's lights from cars coming in through a window and causing it.

Don't freak out just yet. Try to look at it scientificallyl and logically first. You may find that there is a totally innocent explanation. Of course, if it really is haunted then I can totally understand the freak out. I would be also.:scared1:

My 5-year-old grandson sees a ghost in their house, just down the road from us. The previous owner's (an elderly couple) lost their grandson in a car accident when he was a teenager. My grandson will be in the living room and sees the ghost in the dining room, so waves at him. And he says the ghost sometimes wakes him up at night, tickling him. He's a good ghost though, he was a good kid in life, and has never done anything bad or mischievous. I have heard that children see things like that better than adults do.

I would be moving faster then you can call me a Chicken....That is CREPPY:scared1::scared1::scared1:

...can you say U-Haul????

A Little Background: The house is about 150 years old. The previous owner was literally born in my bedroom. She was raised in my house, got married and raised her family in my house. Her daughter lives several doors down from me now. The previous owner's husband had a stroke in the bathroom, but he passed away at the hospital. The women just passed away about a year ago.

Strange things have happened with me; I smell the smell of cigar/pipe smoke, especially when I'm going through remodeling projects or difficult times. No one in my family smokes (either dead or alive). I've also run outside to see if someone walking by was smoking, but I live on a pretty quiet street and there is never anyone outside.

About 1 1/2 years ago I actually called the police because I heard someone in the house walking around. I was in the basement at 2:30 p.m. doing laundry and as clear as day I heard footsteps walking around the kitchen into the living room. I was home alone:scared1: I grabbed my cell phone and ran outside. Of course, no one was there and my son's HBTS worker thought I was nuts-Until she saw a figure several months later!!!

Strangely as freaked out as I was last night I feel strangely calm now. I've always said that my house wasn't my house and that it belonged to Dina (the previous owner) and that I was just keeping it for her. Hopefully she/he, they are keeping an eye out for me and will leave soon!!!

Oh! Oh! You should call TAPS!!! They are in RI too!

Sounds a lot like what we went through in our first home in Texas. It was about 60 years old and as far as we knew no one had died there. We did have some old furniture that could have had a spirit attached to it. I have heard of that. Anyway, my husband heard people walking in the house all the time. Once when I and our son were out of town visiting family my husband was waked up in the middle of the night with something banging on the front door. He ran to the door and of course nothing there. But he said it was more like someone on the inside banging on the door. He thinks it was mad cause we weren't there. DS did not like to sleep in his room because "the walls talk". One day I was working on changing the headlight in our little pickup in the one car garage. I had to take the grill off to do it but it was fastened to the frame with plastic screws that would rip and tear. I went inside to warm up (middle of January and very cold rainy day) and when I came back to the garage the grill had been taken loose and the screws back in place in the frame. I had physical evidence of something there. One night I saw this black figure standing over my bed looking at me. It finally backed into the closet and disappeared. And no I was not dreaming. I had just laid down like 2 minutes before. We had things disappear all the time and show up months later in strange places. Lights turned on and off. But we never felt threatened by our ghost. Actually we kinda thought it followed us when we moved to Mississippi but if it did it is gone now.

It is wasn't a house I had to live in I would definitely call TAPS, but I"m too afraid to find out!!

how unnerving! i know how you feel, OP. our previous home was inhabited by someone we couldn't see. when my daughter was an infant, her toys would start beeping and playing music by themselves and one night, i was awakened from a sound sleep to the sound of heavy boots walking through my kitchen and down the hall. our bedroom was at the end of the hall, so of course, i was laying there terrified out of my mind, waiting to see a figure appear in the bedroom doorway and DH wouldn't wake up! the footsteps stopped at our bedroom doorway, and no one was there. i've never been so scared in my life! a PP mentioned TAPS is near you-i'd give them a call!

Do you have kids? If so, tell them that, they generally come running when kids are involved.

From the sound of it, it doesn't seem to be dangerous, just freaky. If anything they might be able to comfort you. :confused3
