Oh definitely! Usually the better prices are a few weeks after the schedule opens up for your airline. Booking for March Break now is almost a last minute booking.March Break YYZ-MCO-YYZ, Saturday to Saturday, booked at $600 per person on A/C. Now it has doubled. Prices do not always go down. Often times booking early is the cheapest.
Try looking at one way fares with different airlines. On a last minute (as in book on Friday and arrive on Sunday) trip we did we found that the trip down was cheapest with a one way on United with a connection and the cheapest coming back was a one way nonstop on Westjet. It really pays to look around and constantly check prices. However, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet if you're already committed to this trip.
