OMG Let's Pray this is NOT what it appears

Yeah, but they're selling all their weapons on Craig's List to the terrorists for extra money.

The Sunshine Skyway bridge was closed for about two hours late Thursday and early today after a bomb threat was reported, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The patrol received a call from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, which said it received a call from someone who said he or she was talking to a person on a CB radio who claimed a bomb was on the bridge and was set to go off at 11:15, according to a report.

The highway patrol, Manatee County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Coast Guard went to the bridge and shut it down at 10:44 p.m. A search turned up nothing, and the bridge was reopened at 12:30 a.m.

Well, there was very little said on the local news today other than a rehash of what occurred yesterday. The talk at work, (I have several coworkers who have relations and/or friends that work at WDW) is that it was a WDW worker "goofing around". This is just speculation, but it would add up since the local news is definitely downplaying the incident.

In one way, that's very good news. On the other hand. what the #$%^$# was the worker thinking. Oh, that's right, THEY WEREN'T THINKING.

So, let's hope that's the last of this. One thing is for sure, WDW will take a close look at this and make some changes immediately to how buses are handled.

:thumbsup2

Goofing around???? What a HOLE!!!! What would make even an inbred minimum wage reject do something so moronic??? What could have been "funny" about that? If this is true...which I doubt (Im not doubting YOU FlaFortCampster...I doubt the source this infocame from) then the WDW employee who decided this would be great practical joke needs to be locked in a backyard with 8 starving pitbulls, 2 wild boars, and a pregnant badger...because that would be some good "goofing around"!! But I get the feeling that this is the media twisting the truth....no, Im not being honest........I think this is the media making up the news as they go along as usual.

Its a very scary world we're living in. For example...I heard on the local news yesterday that th US military is training Iraqians our procedure for detecting explosives in airports, roadside bombs, etc. right here in Fort Polk, Louisiana!!!! We're training them....now, Im sure they would never go home and remove their mister nice guy disguises and tell their thugs what we do to find explosives and devise a decent plan to work around or usual policies....Nooooo, they'd never do anything like that, it just wouldnt be right....except on September 11th....its ok to kill Americans on THAT DAY!!!!

FORT POLK, La. (AP) - The Louisiana National Guard is helping to train Iraq's federal police force.

Members of the guard's 225th Engineer Brigade have been working with Iraq's 2nd Federal Police Division at Fort Polk, the Army base that made the collaboration public with a news release on Thursday. The police division mans checkpoints in Baghdad.

Fort Polk officials said the Iraqis received and will continue to get training from the guard on how to detect the roadside bombs known as "improvised explosive devices."

I dont know....maybe Im just paranoid and always expect the worse from human beings...but I have come to realize that when you expect the worse, you're rarely disappointed...but on occassions you may get to be pleasantly surprised.

I am very sad to say this, but I have come to the same conclusion.

What the "rumor" was (and we know how reliable those are) was a maintenance worker at the bus maintenance complex was "goofing" around and did this to one of the buses parked at the complex waiting for service. Me thinks this backfired!!!!!!!
Like I said, all speculation, but, WDW is very good about the hush, hush method. Especially when it's internal. If it was someone outside of Disney that did this, I really think the media would be all over it as they love panic and terror in the aisles.
We may never heard anything about this again unless a WDW worker leaks it out what really happened, but like I said before, it's guaranteed that Disney will take a hard look at current methods and they will change for the better. So, in a way, this was a good occurance. It pointed out a weakness and yet, no one was hurt.
Enough about this................................
Halloween is around the corner and the Fort will be hopping again. :thumbsup2

Stupid question. Has anyone said how long the package has been there. Can that even be determine.

The news chopper had it on camera out in the middle of a field. It looked like a piece of luggage or a black case of some type. At first I thought it was the oil pan????!!!! That's all I saw or heard. Maybe someone else has seen or heard something different.:confused3

To attack WDW would not only hurt/kill many Americans, I think that 50% are from somewhere else in the world. There are so many people there not just Americans!

Roger - this is nothing new at all. The American military has trained and armed those who later become our enemies for years. Look up The School of the Americas at Ft. Benning, GA.

The latest on the device under the bus was that it was an item to measure tire pressures and that was the only bus that it was tested on. Can you believe that. The device has apparently been under there since the late 90's.
Well, at least my sources were right on the money, oh no wait, they said it was some WDW worker goofing around.:rolleyes1.
I'm thrilled it wasn't something evil and it wasn't a practical joke gone bad. :thumbsup2. There was a shakeup a Disney today with folks getting juggled around. That's the 3rd incident with transportation in a few months, so someone's head had to roll.

The funny thing is it only took the maintenance crew 10-15 years to find what they put there. So it either means they don't check there buses very well or not very often:sad2: take your pick.
