Like so many other posters, I did major number crunching on how quickly DVC would pay for itself, but in my case I was actually trying to talk DH out of buying it. Instead when I saw the numbers, I was sold! And the non-financial benefits are immeasurable. Last week I was just chatting with my mom about setting up a trip. A phone call later and now we're going after Thanksgiving. Don't know if I could have gotten them to go at that time of the year without it. Now my sister wants to join us. And I am SOOOOO looking forward to them enjoying the kids on this trip!

Personally, I can't help but feel smug everytime I go over to the resort boards and see the people scrambling for deals. We stay in much nicer accommodations now with DVC than we would if we were paying $$$$ a night. (And yes, I know we paid a bunch of money upfront, but other than the dues, it's all gravy now.)
