I know by the time I finish this someone else is going to recap before me but here goes...
House and the team are confronted with a man whose tongue is swelling to a HUGE size and is mis-shapen. When they are trying to work on this case a man comes in and shoots House. Basically, the next thing you see is House in a hospital bed with Cameron sitting there with him. They end up putting the shooter in the same hospital room as House and the man tells him he shot him because House told his wife (who was House's former patient) that he had had an affair when it didn't have anything to do with her diagnosis. She later committed suicide and he wanted House to suffer. He tells House that he didn't want to kill him but wanted him to suffer.
House finds out that Cuddy and Wilson had decided while he was in surgery for his gun shot wounds to also give him this experimental drug that basically induces a coma and "reboots" his brain in hopes that his cronic pain from his leg will be gone and that he will be fine.
The rest of the show is basically going back and forth between hallucinations that House is having from side effects of the drug and it goes back and forth so much that you have no idea if what you are watching is a hallucination or real life. The swollen tongue man's eye ruptures (gross!) and his um, private area explodes with blood all over Chase (gross!)....
House thinks he's going crazy and that the experiemental medicine they gave him during surgery (which he's mad about since they did it without asking him) have robbed him of his medical knowledge when his brain rebooted although the whole show he is able to walk (actually even run down steps) without any pain in his leg so it worked in one way but his brain is failing him in the other. You saw the scene where House comes in to the surgical room believing he's hallucinating and slices the swollen-parts-guy to pieces making you believe it's real. Scene then cuts back to the shooting scene and you realize the WHOLE STORY was his subconscious right after the shooting and that they are getting him prepped for surgery for his gunshot wounds. He looks at Cameron and Chase who are working on him and tell them to let Cuddy know that he wants the experimental drug during surgery.
Basically...that's the end. Anyone else who saw it...Did I get something wrong or miss any vital info???
All in all it was EXTREMELY graphic and I had to look away several times as did my DH who usually makes fun of me for doing so. Definitely not a show you wanted to be eating through. I thought it was very clever though and they definitely left some storylines hanging for next season!
