OMG!!!!! Is anyone watching House!!

anybody notice this was the first episode where we heard Hugh Laurie's natural British accent? He spoke in his normal voice when he was imitating Chase.

The first time I had a fish taco was in New Jersey.

Tonight's episode was a little to graphic for me.

Dash, you're only telling half the story. You first had Fish Tacos in the very building the makers of "House" use for exterior shots of the hospital (actually, not a hospital at all, but Princeton University's Frist Student Center). I know since I, your loving DH, was there!

Yep, fish tacos have made it all the way to NJ! :cool1:

Why would that doctor bend down like that to examine the jewels? Could he have put his face any closer to it? Ew.

I just started watching House a few weeks ago and I am SO excited they're replaying the entire season!

Could someone please summarize what happened? I forgot to tivo it, and all I caught last night was House ripping someone open on a table!

I would like to know what happened, too. My DVR didn't record it and I am soo upset that I missed it. :sad2:

I know by the time I finish this someone else is going to recap before me but here goes...

House and the team are confronted with a man whose tongue is swelling to a HUGE size and is mis-shapen. When they are trying to work on this case a man comes in and shoots House. Basically, the next thing you see is House in a hospital bed with Cameron sitting there with him. They end up putting the shooter in the same hospital room as House and the man tells him he shot him because House told his wife (who was House's former patient) that he had had an affair when it didn't have anything to do with her diagnosis. She later committed suicide and he wanted House to suffer. He tells House that he didn't want to kill him but wanted him to suffer.

House finds out that Cuddy and Wilson had decided while he was in surgery for his gun shot wounds to also give him this experimental drug that basically induces a coma and "reboots" his brain in hopes that his cronic pain from his leg will be gone and that he will be fine.

The rest of the show is basically going back and forth between hallucinations that House is having from side effects of the drug and it goes back and forth so much that you have no idea if what you are watching is a hallucination or real life. The swollen tongue man's eye ruptures (gross!) and his um, private area explodes with blood all over Chase (gross!)....

House thinks he's going crazy and that the experiemental medicine they gave him during surgery (which he's mad about since they did it without asking him) have robbed him of his medical knowledge when his brain rebooted although the whole show he is able to walk (actually even run down steps) without any pain in his leg so it worked in one way but his brain is failing him in the other. You saw the scene where House comes in to the surgical room believing he's hallucinating and slices the swollen-parts-guy to pieces making you believe it's real. Scene then cuts back to the shooting scene and you realize the WHOLE STORY was his subconscious right after the shooting and that they are getting him prepped for surgery for his gunshot wounds. He looks at Cameron and Chase who are working on him and tell them to let Cuddy know that he wants the experimental drug during surgery.

Basically...that's the end. Anyone else who saw it...Did I get something wrong or miss any vital info???

All in all it was EXTREMELY graphic and I had to look away several times as did my DH who usually makes fun of me for doing so. Definitely not a show you wanted to be eating through. I thought it was very clever though and they definitely left some storylines hanging for next season!

Chase is Australian.

And House definitely did the Australian accent. It probably sounded like Hugh's British accent since Australian and British accents DO sound familiar in some ways.

Man, that episode should get the GAG award of the year. :rotfl2: How on earth do those actors keep a straight face while all of this is going on? :teeth:

BTW, love the show. Hugh Laurie is hot as Dr. House!

And maybe not so much sans beard/scruffy look. :teeth:

Thank you! :sunny:

I liked the episode, I wish someone could explain the symbolism of it though. ;) I'm sure there was plenty of it that just went over my head.

I was going to say the same thing. I think I'm dumber than a bag of rocks because the only part that made sense to me was his apparent crush on the female doctor. :confused3 I sort of got how he defined himself by the bad leg and when that was taken away from him he wasn't sure of anything. Why the guy had to have an eye pop out (among other things) is beyond me. What's with the woman who said she was the tongue guy's wife, but then ended up being the wife of the guy who shot him?

I watch the show faithfully, but I really get a good laugh out of it mostly. You can't possibly work in a hospital and take the show seriously. It makes me nuts that House and his 3 doctors are basically the only people that work in the whole place. They do every test, every procedure, every exam. There are no other doctors, nurses, therapists. I guess I find it entertaining because it is soooo far fetched.

When one of the guys "hidden gems" exploded that about did me in. :rotfl2: Am I the only one who didn't realize that he was hallucinating the whole thing? Now I really do feel like a dumb dora.

Well, actually I figured it was one great big hallucination when he woke up and found the "shooter" in his room... no way would any hospital put those guys together :sad2: Even if they had only one bed open in ICU, they'd have shifted people around to give them different rooms :thumbsup2 . So I just assumed all the bizarre images were House's stream of consciousness.

But then I remember being totally shocked at Bobby Ewing in the shower scene and have been suspicious ever since! :rotfl2:
