I stumbled across a DIS posters (***********) web site that has pictures of different suites in WDW, I was floored! I thought the DVC villas were beautiful until I saw these pictures, they make the DVC villas look shabby and small!! All the suites are beautiful (well I did not really care for the suite at the Contemporary) but the suites at GF and the Steeplechase Suite at BWI and the suites at YC are amazing! I wonder if these suites will ever be part of our DVC point schedule?? LOL!!:D

I do not know how to post the link, I tried but it did not work. But this person has several posts/answers to posts on the Restaurant board under the name ***********, at the bottom of her post is a link that will take you to her web site. Great web site with terrific trip reports and amazing pictures of WDW suites. Enjoy!

Here is a link: http://***********.tripod.com/index.htm They are incredible!

I have also read posts about the suites on the cruise ships. Apparently the Walt and Roy Disney suites on the cruise ships can accomodate about eight poeple. One poster mentioned that it was more "affordable" than reserving two cabins for her family that includes five children. There is actually a waitlist for these suites!

What a great set of pics! They give a whole different perspective of these resorts that I have never seen, and probably never will (in person). Although all are lavish, my personal taste lends itself to the AKL, WL, and Admiral's at YC. Normaly I would go for the Poly, but it looked a tad outdated.

Cool...after DVC I feel like if I'm staying elsewhere I'll need one of these suites! (LOL..not that it will really happen, but hey...who knows?)

One thing...the bathroom wallpaper in the King Kamehameha Suite is horrible! But at least its not silver with swans or anything....(I once lived in a house with that!)

I was lucky enough to be allowed to tour the suite at the BWI. It was breathtaking.

I also was in the VP suite at the Wilderness Lodge, pretty amazing.

What impresses me with these suites are the size of the closets and bathrooms (as well as the nightly room rate, LOL.)

There are only two category 1 staterooms per ship, which is the main reason that they are so hard to get.

I guess the reaction to seeing these luxury accommodations is similar to what friends/family think when they first see our DVC villas.:D :D :D

I agree that these suites are lovely and, of course, I wouldn't mind staying at them. But, I really don't feel deprived versus a 2-bedroom or a GV at a DVC resort. In fact, I think having the kitchen facilities makes the DVC better than a suite. Just my $.02.

Most of these suites are REALLY nice, but I just did not like the GF or Poly suites at all....

Anyways, does anyone have any clue how much these rooms go for a night?

The suites can run $600+, easily going into 4 figures. Just like all hotels, very often these suites are actually used "free" by folks who are hosting large meetings/conventions at the property and are given use of suites as a bonus. Suites are rented by companies to use to host parties or showrooms at these events as well. It is not that common for someone to pay full rate just for their personal use.

Many of the suites do have kitchens, if not a full kitchen they have at least a gally kitchen and most likely people that stay in these suites do not need or want anything more. From reading some of the trip reports it appears that families do rent these suites for their vacation. I guess if you have a couple of families vacationing together that are accustomed to spending $500.00+ per night for accomendations, for the 2 families to spend $1,000.00 a night for one of these suites is not unusual and look at what they are getting!
I am also very happy with my DVC villas but I sure would love to stay in one of these suites!

I have stayed in a couple of the WDW suites (two different two-bedroom suites at the GF, a two-bedroom and a one-bedroom suite at the AKL, and the largest suite at the YC -- the Captains Deck Suite). But to tell you the truth, I prefer the Villas at the BW and OKW. I guess I'm just a DVC girl at heart. The WDW suites have nothing on the DVC villas, in my humble opinion. I am really looking forward to my upcoming BCV stay.

Two years ago, before we were DVC members we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite at the Beach Club. It was absolutely amazing! We had booked just a standard room, but when we arrived the room was not to our liking. They asked us to stay there for one night and they'd find us something better in the am. Well, to our amazement they called in the morning and said they had the perfect room for us. Did they ever! It was a three bedroom, three bath suite with dining area, living area and galley kitchen. This was truly a magical vacation! We are now BWV owners and always stay in two bedroom units and absolutlely love them too! Just thought I'd share!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

I agree they look amazing, but I still love my OKW 2 and 3 bedroom "suites" just fine. I also LOVE the washer dryer which allows me to pack less. The only think I might want to try is the AKL suite. Was really interesting to my taste.

They are lovely but, I don't think I would like to pay the high prices to stay in them! Plus, as Pam said, it is much nicer having the kitchen facilities in a DVC villa.

I'm glad you like my pictures. :)

I was only able to stay in the suites due to the generosity of friends, the suites are wayyyyy beyond my budget. Some of the bigger suites are approx. $2000/night.

Our favorite place to stay in WDW is a 1-bedroom villa on the Boardwalk. It's just the right size for us, I love the activity on the Boardwalk, and you can't beat having a washer and dryer in the villa. :)

***********, thanx for the great pics! I have never seen inside these suites before, and probably never will (in person). I now feel like I know what is behind curtain #3 :D
