DCA's World of Color Strategies for best viewing w/out Dessert Party

Are there any threads for strategies involving seeing World of Color One at DCA? We haven't been since 2020 when Disney refunded our APs and have no idea what/how it's changed as far as lining up to see it. Hubby doesn't want to do the Dessert package. Do they not have any other dining options for meals like Fantasmic does? We're going mid August and I haven't seen any other dining packages. How long in advance do we have to line up for the best viewing waterfront? I know they no longer have Fast passes, so have they replaced it with anything else like a Lightning Lane pass? Thanks in advance.

They do have dining packages but you can most always find a great spot to view WOC without one. Especially if you go to the 10:15pm viewing - very few people show up to it.

Can confirm! Visited the parks on 7/19. Saw the 10:15 WOC show. There were plenty of viewing spaces. I didn’t have a dessert party package.
