OMG- I think I missed my banking deadline!

I think I accidentally missed m banking deadline . I am usually so careful about these things but this month has been so crazy and I was so "off" ( a year ago this month dh got hit by a car- survived thank god, but lots of legal things surfacing now as well as some other stress factors). anyway, I think my deadline might have been april 30th! Do you think they might give us a one time break on this? I usually have my points banked or committed by now but since we borrowed from 2016 to book our summer vacation this year and won't be using the rest of 2016 points until oct next year it is rare and didn't even think about banking them since was a little off this month !

Thanks for the encouragement! Although I probably can't call until 11 since I teach and won't have a chance until then (as they won't be open when I get up!) Hoping they can help, still can't believe I messed up on this!

I missed my deadline once and they made an exception for me. Pretty sure that there is an understanding that the exception was more or less a one time thing.

They should. We missed a deadline once and they told us they would be able to bank them as a one time deal.

Although we were able to do it a 2nd time but I think it was because the circumstances were different than just forgetting.

I concur that there is precedent for a one-time exception. I used mine several years ago.

Happened to me on my 3rd year of ownership. I realized it 4-5 days after the fact and called. The CM said they are allowed to do it only one time during the course of the contract and checked the account to make sure we hadn't done it before. I hated that I had to use it so early in the contract but we had almost all of our points to bank that year.

As a tip, if you use Google calendar or something similar, throw a recurring annual reminder on there for a week or two before your banking deadline just to make sure you don't miss it again!

OP I hope it worked out for you. I have reminders in more than one calendar and with multiple reminders.... my fear is forgetting to bank! lol

Yup. Done it before too. Used my one time exception years ago. You'll be fine.

False alarm all! Since my 2016points don't come until sept 2016 no problem-lol! Guess state testing at school and planning a vacation for ten this sumrmer at AKL really fried my brain! Thanks though everyone for your kind words and pixie dust. Now DD and her friend can still go to BCV for food and wine fall 2017 ( DH and I are taking a rare break from the mouse that year- heading to key west for our 40th anniversary that summer instead- so lucky dd can use the points after all!)

I DO OBSESS-lol! THAT'S WHY I WAS SHOCKED THAT I THOUGHT THE DEADLINE SLIPPED BY ME!Disney, cruising, DIS boards, and jimmy buffett are my escapes !

DVC, via their website database I believe, has emailed reminders a few times during the past couple of years. We have 2 UY's so 2 deadlines but I'm not positive I got one for the last UY banking which would have been Nov. Our other comes up here in May so I'll see then.

I did the exact same thing last month thinking my banking window was closing soon. Had 5 2016 UY Sept points left but not yet received, and I banked them into 2017. My thought process had gotten off track by 1 year because our original travel plans did not include banking points until I went from needing to purchase 14 one-time points to having 5 points left over. Thank you AKL-Jambo Value Studio!! Better to be early than late.
