Does anyone have any info on when this is suppose to happen? I so want it to be there for our trip. 4 or 5 of us have seen it once or more, but the others haven't and although I have I definitely want to see it again before it's gone. It is truly a highlight!

I think they canned that idea and Aladdin is now on an extended/indefinite stay. Word is the Toy Story musical (planned replacement) bombed on DCL and forced a change of plans.

That would be good! We didn't catch it last time because I think my son would have been bored.

I heard there was such a bad response to Toy Story that they decided to keep Aladdin :cool1:

Yep, that was an old plan. They anounced it would remain indefinitely. Still could be replaced someday but hopefully not anytime soon! :)

I cannot imagine a kid on the planet being bored in this show! Well I suppose a 6 month old or younger might be lol

That would be my child. (3 years old) Bored to tears... literally. I had to leave partway through with her.

He's 2 well almost 3 now so I was afraid of him getting bored, antsy and scared which were all very possible scenarios :)

YAAAAAAAAY! This thread made my day! I am so not prepared to see the Alladin Show go so I'm very grateful that they changed thier minds. It's my absolute favorite live Disney performance :D They always have a superb Genie!

Heading there in December and this is one of the things we're looking forward to seeing again. It is the BEST theme park show anywhere!

Cool! I love TS but rather see Aladdin since there's already 2 TS rides. Would hate for a Pixar takeover - though DD would love it, she loves the Pixar movies :happytv:

The Aladdin show was the absolute highlight of our last visit. I cannot imagine why they would ever replace it! Woo hoo - glad they are keeping it!

Aladdin is staying, they gave up on the idea of replacing it, not because Toy Story failed on the cruise line, but because the Annual Passholders revolted at the idea of replacing Aladdin. (I am surprised, they actually listened).

We loved Aladdin, but after seeing it 3 times (yes, we do go to Disneyland too much!)--I am ready for something new and really spectacular. I was hoping for Beauty and the Beast or something like that? There is nothing boring about Aladdin--it is beyond great. But I would love to see something equally great.

More than anything, the crowds at Aladdin convinced DCA to keep the show. If people want to cause real change at Disney, they can voice their opinion with their feet and wallets.

While DCA's attendance languished after opening, Disneyland continued to flourish. This eventually convinced them that DCA needed help. The huge increase in attendance at Aladdin also convinced Disney that the show was really popular. All the angst on the internet only goes so far, but people flocking to the show told Disney they had a really popular show.

And if you have people in the parks, they're more likely to spend more money. While the underwhelming reaction to Toy Story Musical may have caused Disney to reconsider, the crowds flocking to Aladdin told them everything they needed to know about what the paying customer thought of the show.

Ive read several sources saying that. Too am agreeing and pleased Disney canned the idea. Ive seen the Disney Cruiseline Toy Story and I was so not impressed. I was thinking it was going to be on the same page as Aladdin and I was very much let down. But it was cute and passed a bit of time. However I would never see it again. On the other hand WDW has some INCREDIBLE shows. If Disney were to replace Aladdin, they can really take notes from WDW.

I thought I would share an interesting note about Aladdin the Musical. We live here in Seattle and have season tickets to the 5th Avenue which is a regional theatre that puts on musicals.

Well, we were supposed to be seeing Oklahoma in the Spring but recently received notice that show was being replaced with an all new musical, Aladdin the Musical, which will start its run here and then move from here straight to Broadway.

Having seen the DCA version we are interested to see what they do to extend the show or even how it will compare to the DCA version.
