OMG!! I did it!!! I just bought SSR!!!

My family just returned from our 1st trip to Disney and I knew from the moment we entered our 1st park I was addicted! After watching the dvd and reading through these boards,we decided to go for it! We have been home for less than a week and I can't wait to go back,only it will be in a nice roomy villa I was approved over the phone,gave my cc number for the deposit and now just have to wait for fedex to bring the documents! Is there anything else I will have to do? How long until I am able to plan my next trip?? I am so excited I almost can't contain myself!!

You should be able to make ressies in a couple of weeks or less. We went through resale, so I'm not really, really sure. Others can answer better than I can.

You should be able to make a reservation (with the help of your guide) as soon as your signed contract arrives back in Florida Maybe even before
Our guide made reservations for us when we gave our deposit & it was transferred into our name when the contract was returned

Congratulations and welcome home! We did it exactly the same way...one visit to the world and we knew that we would be back many many many times! DVC was an obvious choice for us and we have never regretted it!

We were able to make reservations very soon after giving them our deposit, if memory serves...

If I remember correctly, you cannot make a reservation until the rescind period is over (the time in which you can rescind the transaction).

You should be able to make reservations now if you were approved over the phone. I called in Monday the 12th and gave the deposit and was told I could make reservations at SSR the same day. I waited a week so I could get in the 7 month window. Had the fed x by Thursday and sent back on Friday. Had an e-mail conformation for both rooms by Wednesday this week. I got two studios for Dec 10-17 on the first call. No problems with dates or anything. Pretty easy deal I'm thinking .....

I also think that you can make a reservation now. Your paperwork will arrive within 7 days. It will take a little longer to get your password for the member site. But if you need to make a reservation now, I would call your guide.

Congrats - and Welcome Home and welcome to the SSR family!

We added on more points at SSR on Sunday, leaving a deposit and signing the documents in person. Even though the balance is still to be charged on cc June 2nd, the points were available for us to use when we got home Wednesday. It shouldn't take long before you can use them to book.

Once the papers have been signed and received by DVC, that is a binding agreement. You can make bookings shortly after - as, in the end, DVC can always suspend your bookings if the balance is not paid in a timely manner.
