OMG!!! I CAUGHT A DUCK!! An August Trip Report

Such a Fangirl!!!

Remember how I was going to meet my favorite host Greg Hutson? This was THE DAY!!! We had gone to the first American Idol Experience show of the day (yes, after I tried out yet again and failed yet again!) and Greg wasn’t hosting that show. Well, through Twitter messaging he told me he would be hosting the 5, 6 & 7pm shows and to stop by afterwards. OMG! OMG! OMG! :bitelip: :rolleyes2 Now, I had to tone down my excitement a bit, after all, I’m with my husband!!! Honey, I love you dearly, but this is MY super crush! The show was great and of course Greg was awesome, but I was so nervous I almost chickened out and probably would have if it wasn’t for Victoria pushing me to do this. My heart was racing, but we made our way down to the stairs to the left of the stage where he said he’d meet me. OMG!! He is soooooo handsome and friendly! I introduced him to the family and of course did the whole picture thing with him!

And then of course my SHY (SO NOT) child has to get a selfie!!

Ahhhhhhhhh now my day is perfect!! I think (hope) I sounded normal and not too fangirl-ish, but who knows. He probably thinks I’m some middle aged weirdo. Oh well, I don’t care. It was worth it!! He is just sooooo out of my league! :upsidedow Not that I’m looking to join a league, but wow. You know there are just some really GQ guys out there and I’m really a bad match for that type of person. Wow.

This is Hollywood Studios and I NEVER want to leave, so we tried to stay longer but just couldn’t. My family was tired. Here are some random HS pics:

Yep, another wonderful day!!!

Thursday, August 22nd

This morning started out with breakfast at O’Hana’s which is another one of our favorites! The character interaction is awesome and the food is great. I love the look of the restaurant with the fire pit and all.

Now this picture is funny as Stitch snuck right up on Victoria:

It was then off the the Magic Kingdom for the day!! I made this shirt since I was determined to meet Merida today, but darn, the shirt was too short and I didn’t really notice until I saw the first picture of me in it. What the hell is that roll under my belly button? Oh yeah, my belly. Kind of sticks right out there like a big old pot bellied pig, doesn’t it? Ugh! Note to self for March --- LOSE WEIGHT (ok, but if that doesn’t work out, wear longer shirts!) :rotfl2:

Then, as always, it was off to Tomorrowland!! And what’s always the first ride in Tomorrowland? The People Mover of course. This was we can see where it’s busy and where we should go to next.

Really, Peter is having fun!

Nice tree huh?

Here’s the really cool part!! Space Mountain had its lights on as we cruised by:

We usually spend quite a bit of time in this section of the park as it’s Victoria’s favorite. But I was on a mission!!! I had to meet Merida!! This line was long and it was in the sun and I was dying!! I was hot and sweaty and my family didn’t want to wait for me! Are you kidding? The one princess I must meet and they were going to deny me? Nope! So the two of them went to get snacks, bathroom, whatever while I waited, and waited, and waited. I think it was about 45 minutes by the time I met her:

Well, lookie who showed up:

Cont’d in next post….

Now here’s a funny story for you all…..I had no clue which entrance was for the new Little Mermaid ride and which entrance was for her meet n greet. Can you guess which line I mistakenly got into? :confused3 Yep, the meet n greet. Hey, it’s a new section and I got it wrong, so shoot me! After 30 minutes we finally got to meet Ariel. OMG! I didn’t live this one down for the rest of the day! :lmao:

At least I got to see the queue which was very nice!

Here we are out front of Gaston’s but we didn’t go in nor did we get to have our picture taken with the man himself! It’s a bummer! In March I definitely will!

It was then off to our lunch ressie at Be Our Guest! I was soooo excited that I snagged a fast pass plus ressie (they were testing this at the time) so as we walked towards the bridge all I had to do was check in at the gatehouse and then walked right in to the room with the kiosks that you order your food from it. Now I admit the choices are pretty limited, but really we are going there more for the experience than the actual food. We ordered and went to sit in the library to wait for our food with our magical locator rose!

The lighting wasn’t great and it doesn’t appear I took many pics. I thought I had, but I don’t see them here on Photobucket. Darn, I know I did!!! I’m going to look for them now.

5 minutes later: Yep, I found them and just added them to Photobucket. :yay: It must have been some I had missed when I was trying to decide whether to buy the extra Photobucket storage or not. Yep, obviously I did. Hey, what’s $2.99 per month, right?!

Here’s the waiter Victoria thought was cute:

And do you think we got our ride on the Under the Sea ride? Yesiree….I do think, however, that having the Fast Pass machine located near Peter Pan’s Flight is pretty inconvenient. I suppose with Magic Bands it won’t make much of a difference, but I didn’t like it. Just thought I’d share my two cents with everyone.

Then it was onto the rest of the park. We spent a fair amount of time in New Fantasyland and quite honestly it was too crowded for me. I also don’t like not knowing my way around. I never did get to the Tangled area with the new bathrooms. We didn’t go near the Dumbo area either. That’s the great thing about Disney, though. There’s always something more to see. Again we didn’t stay until dark so no Electrical Parade or Wishes for us. What a bunch of party poopers!!!

Now I understand why they informed us 3 times that the queue was for the meet n greet and not the ride. There were people ditching the line each time we were informed. We had gone on ride and actually wanted to meet Ariel.

We have tons we missed. Can't believe we never got to see Spaceship Earth at Epcot. My kids would not let me go in that direction at all. One bad thing about staying at Beach Club with my kids. They aren't walking out of their way for a picture. Guess that will be next trip...whenever that may be. Marissa and I are going to Disneyland in April so that is the only trip in the works for now.

Shoot, there was like three updates to catch up on here. I love starting my Monday morning with fun like that..... it's so much better than WORK!! :rotfl:

I love Prime Time- last time we went we didn't have the best waiter...the waiter makes or breaks it.... the very first time I went, the waiter kept catching me with my elbows on the table and so he made me go stand in the corner of the resturant and yelled at me in front of everyone. Then I had to sing to get out of the corner!!! We are going back this trip & I'm hoping for a GREAT waiter!

How totally awesome meeting your 'crush'. I swear if I met any of my crushes I would just stand there like a big old dummy looking stupid because I would have no clue what to say or do. Course my chances of meeting George Clooney, Richard Armitage or Colin Firth are about slim to none- so I'm not loosing sleep over how I can possibly overcome my shyness to convince them that I am the girl of their dreams! :lmao:

We love Ohana's too! My favorite Character Breakfast- hands down!

And your shirt is super cute! Glad you stuck your grounds and stood in line to meet Merida!!!

Great updates!

The first time I went to AK it was in September and it was SO HOT! I enjoyed it much much more in January and February! I love just walking around and taking it all in, I know some people don't care for AK, but on a cooler day it's really gorgeous. I'm glad you got a lot done despite the heat! EE! My fav!
I know....I love Animal Kingdom, but it's not on the itinerary for March. Bummer.

Well you got a lot more done there than we did. I just can't get into AK. Even in February, that park just seems so hot and the layout just kills me. Just not my favorite park. But you got lots done. And....you had a sit down breakfast which eats into your day. So I think you did well.

Thank you, thank you!

THAT's RIGHT ANN!

ALLthepictures.jpg

:lmao:

We were kind of unimpressed with TT as well, but still love the racing around the track (which to be honest was really the only thing I loved before too).

Sounds like a great day at Epcot! I think each time I go it's more crowded, just more and more people going to WDW and not really any slow times anymore.

Yeah, we love Epcot!!

ANN! Are you planning on Wishes Dessert Party in March??? It just unexpectedly opened up for Jan-March of 2014...go make those reservations if you are!!!!

Thank you sooooo very much, Karen. I'm sure we have one of the first ressies for the 28th. That is the night before we leave and I think that's just a perfect way to end the trip! :lovestruc

I must have missed your last update... glad to have caught it!

We are doing that princess breakfast in November- it's been years since we've done it (my middle one was 1..and she's now 8!!!!). Glad to hear it's still good!

And LOVE the shirt. Very talented are you... (in my best Yoda voice, which isn't very good at all!)

Sad to hear about TT- it will be our first time riding the new updated version... and I also hear crowds are up everywhere now too......

As for the crowds, I'm getting nervous for March. It's a traditionally busy time, but hey, it's the only time we really can do it since we'll already be down in Orlando for Playlist Live anyways. I'm really anxious to see Disney through a first timer's eyes again!

Don't ya just hate it when life and work get in the way of Dis time? Well, that's what happened to me and I fell way behind. So, I'll just comment on the last post so I don't get all mixed up no what happened when and where.

I am loving Victoria's picture on Spaceship Earth. She'd fit right in with my goofy family.

Oh and your shirt is adorable! Love love love it!

I can just imagine Hunter and Victoria cruising around the parks together.....Oh, the trouble (good kind) they would get into!

Didn't Victoria need new shoes last year too? Maybe she just 'forgets' to pack good walking shoes on purpose to be able to get new cool Mickey shoes? ;)

I love the Nemo area as well- it's so fun!

Oh yes, Nicole.....you remember last year's shoe fiasco, too, huh? I should have known, I should have known.....I will ABSOLUTELY be packing her another pair of shoes in March!

Awwww! I LOVE it! It does remind me of the shot of Savannah & Rey, I cannot believe you remember that picture. It's in our 2009 trip report, I think. I don't pay you to endorse me, but I got you that early dessert party adr, so that's worth somethin', right? :lmao:

You really got some great shots of you guys, I love the Monsters Inc picture off all three of you! :goodvibes

Actually I was pretty upset with the Photographer at the Monsters Meet n Greet! He wouldn't even let us pose, he took a bunch of random shots. I knew it when he wouldn't let us pose. Grrrrrrrr!!!

Awwww, that's such a great pic of Peter & Victoria.

Makes that park even more special to you, huh?

Yeah, it really does.....I love it!

Now I understand why they informed us 3 times that the queue was for the meet n greet and not the ride. There were people ditching the line each time we were informed. We had gone on ride and actually wanted to meet Ariel.

I wish we would have been informed about which line was which. Oh well. You haven't been to Spaceship Earth?? How could you possibly miss it? Crazy!! Your part of my trip report is coming up.....[/B]

Great updates!

You can tell there was little supervision at work last week and I was able to do a couple of updates. I have today off but I have a miserable cold, so I'm not getting much done. And hubby just got home a whole hour early. We are off to Texas Roadhouse now....Whoo Hoo!!!

The skies were looking kind of nasty at this point, so back to the resort we went. I believe we had supper at Riverside Mill and just hung out. Then my wonderful hubby said “let’s go for a carriage ride”. Really? Cool!!! So we went to the area where the carriages are. No one was there, but there is a phone number you can call to make ressies. I called and the carriage was on its way back to the area, so we would be able to ride within a few minutes. Awesome!!

It was really fun and our horse’s name was Dan. Notice I remember the horse's name and not the driver? OMG!! Seriously, I can’t remember it.:lmao:

The next morning was the start of our Break Day. It was a chance for me to do laundry and for us to just rest up for the next part of our trip. I was still up early and decided to get the laundry done while sitting by the pool. I thought for sure my family would get up and join me, but nope. :sad2: It was just little ole me with my travel diary and laundry. There were 2 families at the quiet pool, so it was very peaceful and relaxing. It kind of bothered me, though, that Victoria was taking this opportunity to be on Twitter. There’s a beautiful pool right here and yet she wants to sit in the room and be on the computer. Really? I just don’t understand that. This is a girl who loves (or at least used to) to swim and play in the pool. But, she was being good as far as staying off her phone while we are in the parks unless we are sitting down and resting. That’s the one request I made of her before leaving on this trip. Anyways, the quiet pool area is very nice.

Here’s one of my favorite towel animal pics…..Yes, those are my new ears!

After I had done the laundry and we grabbed a quick bite to eat, we ALL decided to go to Old Man River and swim in the main pool. Finally! The water was a perfect temp, so much so that I was able to jump right in. Go Mom! Of course the hot tub felt AMAZING!! MMMMmmmmmmm! Oh, and lookie here, Victoria found a cute guy.

Yeah, I’m not too subtle when taking pictures!

Doesn’t the hot tub look fantastic? Yep, it was!!

That evening we had ressies at 1900 Park Fare. We all love the food here and I especially love the buffet format. That seems to work the best for our family. We all got ready and out the door we went. We took the first bus that got to our resort and made our way to the Grand Floridian from that park. Can’t for the life of me remember which park that is right now, but needless to say, we got there!

Best selfie EVER!!!

DISMEET….DISMEET…..DISMEET!!!!

Looky here, looky here……
It’s Shannon!!
OregonMomToWDW!!

Well, technically it’s Cinderella, Shannon and me! And Cinderella thought we were there to see her! Imagine! I didn’t see Shannon at first, but she spotted us and came over. It was soooo cool to meet her. We only had a quick minute to chat, but it was cool!!! Hi Shannon!!!:yay:

I just love this floor tile—

So, that was our day. A nice, boring, relaxing day. Time to rest up as tomorrow is my favorite park!!!! Whoo Hoot!!!

Carriage ride looks fun! A nice and relaxing way to enjoy the resort!

And it sounds like Victoria is just growing up... I remember how much I loved the pool as a youngin' and now you have to pay me a lot of money to actually enter cold water. Even when it's 'warm' pool water- it still feels cold to me! I despise it!

Or maybe she's just being a typical teen on the twitter/phone. :)

Love the pic of you and the step-mother. Funny!!! I have not eaten at the dinner in years but it holds the place as my favorite all-time Disney memory...

When my oldest was 2.5, she was obsessed with Cinderella. She had this wish that she really wanted to dance with Cinderella. She had the dress, tiara and shoes... but I didn't have gloves for her. We went to meet the princess back in Toontown before that 1900 Park Faire Dinner. Cindy was not there, but DD walked in- full princess gear- and told Snow White and Sleeping Beauty that her mom was just so mean because she wouldn't buy her white gloves & how could she meet Cinderella without the white gloves?!?!

Needless to say, we walked out into the gift shop and bought her overpriced gloves.

She was so excited at the dinner to finally meet Cinderella... she didn't even care about meeting any of the other characters or eating- just sat and stared at Cinderella as she made her ways around the table. Cinderella finally came to our table and DD, who was normally so shy, ran right into her arms for a hug...and we took the pictures...and Cindy started to walk away and DD in a panic said " But you didn't dance with me!!!"

And so Cindy stopped and turned and took my DD by the hand to the middle of the resturant and danced with her. I bawled right there at the table (course I was 6 months pregnant, could have been a factor)... that Cindy made my little girls dream come true! I still look at those pictures and they bring a tear to my eye. DD was so, so happy....

Ahh, okay- done walking down memory lane!

Good update!

OMG Ann, I LOVE that selfie with the stepmother! :lmao: It's perfect!

I have always wanted to do the carriage ride! It looks like a really relaxing day for you guys. I love that. I think once you have been to WDW a few times, it's nice to chill out and have relaxing days where you just enjoy the atmosphere and not stress so much about being commando. Of course, you have to be the kind of person that goes back multiple times to get to that, but that's fine by me! ;)

Hollywood Studios Day Two!!!

We really have been lucky with the rain so far as there hasn’t been much at all! Yay! I’ve just got to start off this day with a picture of Mutt & Jeff, Two Peas in a Pod, my pride and joy!! They are just so cute, huh?

First stop today was the Great Movie Ride (as usual….). We were able to get a driver/host named Blaine. Now, I don’t know if I’ve ever shared this with you all, but Peter’s real first name is Blaine. It’s Blaine Peter Melancon. I just thought that it was cool because you really don’t meet many Blaine’s in this world. I do work with one, but that’s irrelevant, right? In my humble opinion this is one attraction that needs updating. I believe it’s been the same since MGM first opened up and a lot of the little kids have no idea who some of these actors and movies are. Maybe that’s the point – to introduce them to the old classics. Oh well.

Here’s Blaine and I:

And I’m so excited about this picture. I FINALLY timed it just right to get the Alien coming down from the ceiling:

Ok, fine. I snapped quite a few and got lucky on this one. LOL!

Just some random shots from the day:

Even though I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with my audition, I still went to the American Idol Experience again. It was actually my best audition thus far, but I still didn’t get a golden ticket. Bummer. My casting agent Matthew was AWESOME!! He said I had a great voice but it’s just not what they are looking for. He said I would be good as a singer in a lounge. OK….I’m taking that as a compliment. We then start talking about Greg, the host. You all know Greg, my crush!! Matthew was so totally agreeing with me that there was not too much wrong with that boy! Oh yeah. Don’t I know it!! Anyways…..here is a pic of Matthew and I:

Oh and look, I ran into Sleeping Beauty:

Oooops, my mistake. It’s my husband outside the gift shop at Rock n Rollercoaster. Poor guy. I really do run him ragged when we are at Disney, but like Karen and I say: There is no resting at Disney!!!! We had a Fast Pass for the ride, so it was maybe 20 minutes from the time we got into the line until the time we met him outside. Yep, doesn’t take that one long to fall asleep!

We ate lunch at the ABC Commissary. There really isn’t a whole lot of choices for QS at HS. I feel the Commissary has more of a choice than the others. And I like to watch the tv while there. I had this AMAZING cupcake there, but I don’t see a picture of it in my photobucket. It was amazing, you’ll just have to take my word for it.

It was then off to meet Mike and Sulley. I love these guys! I am so happy I had gone to see Monsters U before my trip. They had the place decorated in all University stuff. The Photopass photographer is another story. Yes, he took pictures of us meeting them, but when we were posing for the picture he waived us off like he already took it. I had the feeling he didn’t and this is what I ended up with:

I wasn’t happy.

What’s up next? Why it’s Ann getting involved with the action again. What did I do you ask? I volunteered for the Backlot Studio Tour water bomb demonstration, of course! I didn’t realize that they also put women in the little cabin hot seat. I thought it was just unsuspecting men that the put in there. Yeah, I was wrong!

The most important thing they told me was “DON’T LOOK LEFT”. Ok, I won’t I promise!! Oh, and for anyone who is wondering, nope, the blue rain suits do not keep you very dry. Just sayin’. I loved every single minute of it!! It was so much fun and that’s a lot of freaking water, man!!!

After toweling off, we went on the rest of the tour. Here is the annual picture I take of Victoria in Castastrophe Canyon! Every year she has the same expression. I love it!

We were able to get into the drawing class at the Animation Studio. Our subject was Mike from Monsters, Inc. Now you would think, “oh this is easy, he’s a circle!!” Yeah, not so much. I did ok and it was a lot of fun. I was surprised at the line to get in. I think we waited about 20 minutes.

Cont’d

Supper time rolls around and it’s off to the Sci Fi Diner! Victoria likes this restaurant for the big screen, not so much for the food. I like the steak, myself, so that’s what I ended up having. Yum! It was me and Victoria in the front seat and poor Peter in the back seat. I’ll have to make sure next time he sits with Victoria. I feel bad when he’s all by his lonesome.

Victoria doesn’t really remember drive ins. We do have one about an hour away from us here in Maine, but I never take her. I think you don’t even have those speakers anymore and that you have to tune in your radio. Maybe I’m wrong. Again, I haven’t been in decades!

I think it’s awesome that the bill is a “speeding ticket” –

We didn’t stay too much longer after that. We made sure to do the stuff we missed the first day and of course went to see Idol again (no Greg this time). It was getting dark and knowing this was our last day at HS, I sat on a bench, crossed my hands across my chest, pouted and said, “I’m not leaving”!!! :sad2: Seriously I think I sat there for like 15 minutes until I was ready to leave. Who am I kidding? I’m never ready to leave, but the inevitable had to happen. Very, very sad.

“It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow….Shining at the end of every day…..”

It was a beautiful morning. It was a great day to head to Magic Kingdom! Our first stop along today’s adventure is breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore! The food was great as always and the character interaction was lots of fun. There is a coworker of mine, Carol, who simply adores Eeyore, so I made a sign and had Eeyore hold it for her. It was so cute. The only thing that was a little irritating was that Tigger had passed our table when we were at the buffet. Our server had told us it was going to be a while before he came around and that we had time to go get our food. Well, she apparently was misinformed. You know what? I paid for this experience and I was going to stay right there at the table until he comes around again and that’s exactly what we did. I felt a little guilty doing this, but darnet, I wanted a picture with Tigger!!!

Today’s strategy was to start with Adventureland and work our way clockwise. Jungle Cruise was closed for refurbishment so that was a little disappointing, but we knew ahead of time. Our first stop was on Pirates!! Love that ride! Always have!

I never get the exposure right on my pics of this scene! Grrrrr.

Then it was moseying on over to Big Thunder Mountain and look who we saw on the way: Jessie!! Well, you don’t think I missed the opportunity to get a picture with her, do you? Nope. I got right in that line!

Apparently we had some girl talk to catch up on!

And it’s time for that runaway train! Yahoo! This is one of the rides that Peter does not ride. He does go to the viewing area to watch Victoria and I though. Good man!

Another one of our favorite spots is the rocking chairs by the fireplace in the gift shop by Splash Mountain! Every year we have our picture there. We are just adorable, huh?

TO BE CONTINUED....

So we are still hanging around Magic Kingdom doing the Adventureland and Frontierland thing. Victoria and I love Splash Mountain, but Peter sits this one out, too. After Splash we did Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I wish we could have just stayed on and on and on, but it was too busy to do that.

The old hunger pains were calling our names so we decided on Columbia Harbor House. I really enjoy that place as it offers something different. Both Peter and I love seafood so fried shrimp is awesome! Of course Victoria and her fussy tastebuds opted for the chicken nuggets and fries. Oh, big surprise there!

Is that Victoria on her cell phone? Really?

Ok, can I interrupt my own report here? I just need to say that my trip report has been very dull, even to me! Where’s my creativity? Where’s my pizzaz? I’m not telling any cute stories or snippets. I’m just telling you what we did and posting pictures. Ugh! I think I’ve lost most of my readers, too. I can’t say as though I blame you. Maybe I’m overthinking this. Maybe I’m freaking out over the Fast Pass Plus for our next trip? What if I can’t show Kali all of the awesome wonders of Disney? I don’t want her to miss out on anything! What if I can’t find the money to make the trip happen? Ok, well I have that one budgeted out per paycheck, but still. We all know emergencies come up. Plane tickets to Disney are bought, but not ones coming back. Then I still have to figure out where we will eat during the Playlist Live portion of the trip. Oh, I know it will come together as it always does, but I’m having a moment. AND it was 27 degrees out this morning!! I am not ready for only 27 degrees!! I’m also wondering if we will ever get the property in Starks cleaned up enough to sell it. See, Peter is from the old school of thought where if there are woods, that’s where you can throw your junk and not have to worry about it. Ummmm, it’s coming back to bite us now. The realtor who went to look at the property won’t even list it right now. That’s discouraging!! She said if she did list it, it would only be for $39,000 since it’s a mess. Really??? Ok, we want way more than that and it’s 11 acres of land for crying out loud!! Our next step is to rent one of those dumpsters and start throwing everything away!! It’s too bad to throw some of the stuff away, but if we want to sell as soon as possible, we just don’t have the time to sort and donate things. It’s just all crazy!! Well, thanks for listening…..I hear the crickets…….

“Welcome Foolish Mortals…” Yes! One of my favorite rides!! But then again, I think I say that about most rides. Hee Hee!!! Did Victoria lose a croc this year? Nope. I think she was worried about doing so, though. Did we get stuck on the ride? Of course. It was right in the attic so we got to listen to “til death do we part” and see the bride’s bouquet turn into an ax for about 15 minutes. That’s ok, it gave me an opportunity for pics I can’t get when the ride is moving. I sat with Victoria and Peter was in the Doom Buggie behind us. I honestly like getting stuck in rides. I think it’s cool. Weird, I know.

Look, it’s Peter’s stone --- Blaine

We did all the other stuff we wanted to do ---- another ride on the People Mover, another visit to Monsters Laugh Floor, etc. Just plain enjoyed the park some more. Again, we didn’t stay for the nighttime shows. We were too pooped to pop!! I honestly think it was just too darned hot!

Hey, I'm still here!!! Your trip report is fine! And your pictures have been great!!

Also with playlist live- you have plane tickets there... so don't stress.... just don't come back if you can't get the money for tickets back! Hahahahahaha!!

Victoria can be put to work in the parks! :)

I'm totally here, it's me, not you! Life has been overwhelming for me lately, I just cannot keep up with much and the DIS is one of those things! I have been reading, I promise!

Sounds like you have the stress of a new trip. It's going to be a fantastic girls trip, no worries! It will be all new to Kali, so she won't know if you are missing anything, so don't sweat it!

Love the pic of you guys on Splash! CHH was a nice place to eat, and Savannah is picky as well AND a vegetarian, so she usually lives off mac-n-cheese all week at WDW. :p

Another wonderful day ahead in EPCOT, although Spaceship Earth is now closed for refurbishment….boo hoo. At least we got to ride it on our first day. It was another beautiful day and we were looking forward to it.

Our first stop was to get Fast Passes for Soarin’ and of course another ride on Living with the Land. I really wanted to spend some time at The Living Seas so we spent quite a bit of time there. I love looking at all the tanks. Victoria didn’t want to do Turtle Talk this time around so we didn’t. Bummer. I like that dude!

Doesn’t this star fish look like toasted marshmallows?

We headed back to the Land to eat at Seasons. I love that counter service. I think it’s the best on property! Now I came across a picture of Peter holding out money to Victoria but I don’t remember what that’s for. Obviously it was funny according to the pictures. I’ll have to ask Peter or Victoria if they remember it. I just texted both of them. Hopefully someone will remember, but here are the photos:

Cute, huh? Peter must have offered to pay her to do something probably embarrassing like asking a cute guy what his name was or something like that. Anyways….it was off to the other side of Future World. This is the part I don’t like about Epcot --- going back and forth from the Land to Test Track. It feels like we do this 5 times a day. We are either going to use the FP’s or picking up FP’s. I’m really anxious to see how the whole FP+ makes our touring different. We were walking by the Fountain View café (which was closed to transform into Starbucks) when I just happened to see a lady in a suit with vouchers in her hand. She approached us and asked if we were willing to try the new café out. We could get any beverage of our choice complimentary. Well, heck yeah!! I love being a part of stuff, we all know that. She led us into the secret hidden entrance to the café. It was interesting at it wasn’t finished off yet and it was kind of chaotic, but it was cool to watch the cm’s learn how to make the Starbucks products.

We were hidden behinds these walls!!

This is pretty cool, huh???? Pixie Dust!!!

SUPERDUPERUBER COOL!!! So you got Starbucks before it opened...AND for FREE?!?!?!!!!!! Wow! :woohoo:

That starfish is bizarre, I have never seen one like that and you are right, totally like a toasted marshmallow! :thumbsup2

I hope they remember what the money was about, cute pics!

I do think FP+ will work well for us at all the parks except MK. I don't know that we use more than 3 a day at the other parks, but MK will be a challenge since there are so many choices for FP's. I think what I will like best (trying to look for the positives since many people have pointed out the negatives already) is no running back and forth for FPs! I HATE backtracking, and FP+ will eliminate that, so it may end up working out. Just wish it were 4...or 5...LOL...I'm guessing no matter how many they gave me I would complain that there was a limit. :p

Something free at Disney? Say what? That is Pixie Dust!! pixiedust:

Usually the mouse just grabs my money as fast as he cans and runs fast, fast away!!!

Karen, I agree that the 3 FP+ will be hard at MK. I think since they charge 'more' for a MK ticket now that they should up the FP+ allotment by like 1. But then, that would be too complicated for Disney, I'm sure.. since they can't get the current FP+ working worth anything right now! :)

The other parks are OK with FP+ situation for sure. Although the problem will be that some offer TOO few choices and they will be gone fast I'm thinking -at full rollout (like for instance, EPCOT with Soarin and Test Track)...

I guess we shall find out soon enough...
